Is Emma pure breed
Hello everybody, couple of days ago, my mum started to tell me that she has concerns that my dog is a pure breed chow chow, she says this because Emma's tongue is not completly blue. Emma is 6 months old, white loving dog. In my opinion she just hasnt got to maturity yet and thats why her tongue isnt completly blue. Judging by the kind of dog she is, i really think she is pure breed but i need some other opinions. When we got her she took 1-2 days to accomodate with the house and the family but now she is really great with all of us even doe is a more attached to me then to the others. She is stubborn and likes to play, always keeping her tail up. Ill drop some photos of her down below, hope to hear some opinions from u soon

Though most Chows have the classic purple tongues, some don't. No biggy out of the show ring. You have a cream, open face rough, beautiful little lady. Btw the tongue usually fills in by 8 weeks, but I *think* there are exceptions-can't swear on it though. I would think by year mark for sure, be your end result.

Re: Is Emma pure breed
She is purebred. Chow pups can have the mouth coloring come in late, but with Cream Chows, it may never. That is not an indication she is not purebred. Mostly its a Cream trait, but it could also be representative of a weak gene somewhere back in the lineage. From the photos though, I would put money solely on the cream genetic. Her ear set it nice above the outer edge of the eyes. The eyes are a nice almond shape and show good coloring. The tail set is very typical and the paws are well shaped and proportioned. I also really like the upward stance in the middle pic. The black in the nose is nice, although it may not retain the color as she ages (typical for cream chows).
