I'm upset....
I have had a very bad day today. Some of you will know how many problems I have had with Fozz's health - it has broken my heart to see her go through so many medical procedures so young. I thought we had got the last hurdle over when she was spayed a few weeks back but I found out on Monday that she...

Re: Tibetan Mastiff
Well, all I know is that Humphrey's new best friend is a Tibetian Mastiff called Walter! Walter and his sister Winnie live in Cheshire and are big, beautiful and very friendly dogs. I have a video of Humph and Walter sumo wrestling - will try to post it here.

Re: BARF
Vegetarian!?! I'd laugh at that too. I give my two bones - I keep a close eye on them while they eat them and would never feed them cooked. I think I'll draw the line at sheeps heads though! My freezer is stocked with minced venison, chicken, piggy bits, duck, oily fish (no bones), tripe, heart and ...

Re: How to take a control of my chow?
I dont know how to stop dogs being interested in other dogs - it is a difficult one. They have to meet and play with other dogs to learn social skills. I love seeing mine play with other doggies but wish I could get them to to stop and assess who may or may not be friendly first. I'm hoping that the...

Re: my chow seems a bit down
I always leave the radio on for my two when I go out. I think chows particularly love to be with their owners but he should settle into his routine. I think it helps to have two chows together. If I'm out all day Fozz and Humphrey go to doggy daycare (which they love) or out with the dog walker (the...

That seems very odd - I didnt know it was possible until much older than a few weeks.
I think that there are a lot of benefits to neutering a dog, both health and behavioural. But this breeder sounds shonky!

They are cute but how old are they? Have you seen both parents? Chow babies should be littlefat roly-poly looking balls of fur. I'm no expert - maybe these are still only very young.

I think that my chows are stunning - but I guess I am biased.
Here is Fozzchops enjoying the snow and Humphrey having a bromance with his new friend Walter (a mastiff who seems just as silly as Humph)

Re: CHOWS AND CATS/KITTENS
I have got to agree with Tippsy'smom. I have a cat and despite having both of my dogs as puppys and doing my best for them to understand that the cat is off limits, I now keep them seperated at all times by a baby gate (cat has run of upstairs and goes in and out through a window - dogs live downsta...

Re: First time owner questions
Teach him to sit / basic commands and start NILF right now! You can put him in time out on his own right now too. He can walk on the street as soon as he has had all of his jabs. Start with a harness, rather than a collar, and just dont expect to get anywhere fast! How old was he when he left his Mu...

BARF
Does anyone else feed their dog the BARF diet? (For those who don't know - Biologically Appropriate Raw Food). I have always given my dogs the most natural, hypoallergenic prepared food available, but am now going the whole hog and am 'cooking' (i.e. mixing up meat with some carbs and veggies) mysel...

They are both gorgeous little bundles of fur - don't know how you will choose between them. I'm sure Rory will love whoever you pick.
I miss having a baby in the house - even though my boy was a handful, my girl was a gentle quiet little thing. Both great in their different ways.

Re: Does your Chow grunt and snort?
This made me smile. My dogs like sitting on my windowsills (which are deep but beginning to collapse under their weight) and I'm forever cleaning the windows! Grunting, snorting, burping, snoring - you name it, I have two very noisy dogs!

Typical loveable chow.
I'm glad she has company now - I bet she missed her original Mum and chows are very sociable (in a sort of un-sociable kind of way). They need to be with their family so glad she is settling down with her new one.

Re: quick question about my chows :D
You should never buy a puppy without seeing Mum at least ...but like Jess says, bit late now. Anyway, they look like chow chows to me and I'm sure that they will be gorgeous even if one of them is a spitz mix. Some chows have longer noses than others, there is quite a bit of variety in the breed. I ...

Re: Simba one year now
And he is such a good-looking boy. I have the same food problem with my two - Humphrey is a grand food thief if he gets a chance. I stopped him from trying to steal Fozz's breakfast/dinner by standing between them and physically blocking him from Fozz's food bowl. He soon got the message and now lie...
