Peanut Butter

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I remember the day we brought Special home, my friend said "oh give him some peanut butter, he'll go crazy for it," Of course, he did not. Not only that, he literally turns his nose up at it! He hates it so much.

When I eat one of my favorite treats, Reese's Peanut Butter cups, little D smells what I've been eating and turns his head in true disgust. So I'm wondering how many of you have chows who like pb? I hear it's a canine favorite but I can't imagine that in our household.

Tippsy LOVES the stuff. If I'm eating ANYTHING that has peanut butter she trys to steal it from me... Nothing will stand between her and peanut butter thats for sure... LOL!

Buddha doesn't like it at all, I tried to give him some and he very reluctantly ate it...he wasn't impressed LOL

Special wouldn't even eat it when we offered it to him so Buddha is one step ahead. He really hates it, hubby hates it too so he always says that Special gets that from him.

I have never given Holden peanut butter... Maybe I'll try and see what he thinks.

My mother-in-law uses peanut butter to give her little ankle biters their medicine. I never saw the point of trying that trick out as Holden lets me open his mouth and pop the pills on the back of his tongue.

Kearra loves it....but I've never given it to Kyra since my dh fondly refers to her as Fat Butt

I figure she doesn't need the extra calories, a girl needs to watch her figure, ya know

Ginger loves peanut butter. It's how I get her to take her medicine and it works wonderfully. Max. the dachshund, hates it. Even if he's seen Ginger eating some he won't touch it which is unusual since he eats everything and seems especially motivated to eat what Ginger is eating. I think it's because Max knows that its just another way we could hide medicine....he's extremely resistant to anything to with his meds.

Sabre LOVES peanut butter! It's the only way I can get him to take medicine. With anything else, he'll spit it right out.
And it works wonders too when I put a little bit on the side of the bathtub when it's time for a bath.

Sullivan used to like peanut butter until she figured out we hid medicine in it. I don't think there's anything the boys won't eat, but they do all like peanut butter flavored treats.

I agree, putting it on the tub is genius! Won't work for Sullivan but giving Gilbert a bath is like bathing the Tasmanian Devil from the cartoons.

I've never tried to give Brandon peanut butter. I think I'll go try it. I think he will probably eat it, but not be all that crazy about it.

Now cheese, he loves cheese. If I have anything with cheese, he will try to take it away from me. Politely, of course!

The boy must mind his manners.

The poodles love peanut butter,Cheyenne will eat it to humor me,but not with Jelly (can't blame her,i don't understand how anyone can eat peanutbutter and jelly) ,Cinnamon refuses peanutbutter completely.
