Playtime is hard when you have little legs

Post by Layla »

Alf really tries to keep up with Millie but he's just too little right now :D He gets tuckered out & then wants Mama to carry him

It doesn't help that Millie likes to climb on rocks to taunt him :D

Sweet little boy! How much does he weigh now? He looks so small next to Millie. Both are just darling.

Alf was just under 30 pounds at 16 weeks. I'm guessing more like 35-38 now? They're both at the vet tmw so I'll get new weights for them.

Millie would like it known that she's not large.... he's just small. Plus, black is far more slimming than cream fur

I'm quite sure that Alf will be bigger than Millie VERY soon :D However, Millie is very agile & fast in play. She scales rocks, logs, jumps objects & other dogs for fun & loves to chase aussies / border collies etc. Alf, he's more of a walk around the slope than up it kinda guy

Yes.... the only things that inspire Mr Alf to move fast are food & when he's 'stealing' things to hide in his bed (today was my bathmat....) You just hear his little footsteps running down the hall & moving bathmat....

Oh my goodness - if he is a "hider" just make sure you keep little things out of his reach!!

Milly and Mabel used to hide all sorts of little things in their beds - pens, pencils, etc. They were desperate to have our mobile phones too!

And once they hid Fred's hearing aid - it was missing for weeks and we searched the house, garden, greenhouse for it. Eventually they walked into the sitting room with it and put it on the fireside rug! We never figured out where it was.

Now, if something is missing, we check their beds first and if it isn't there, then we look elsewhere!!

Yes I can too! He sounds gorgeous doesn't he - thing is, bathmats are big enough to find. Small things can be lost. Milly and Mabel still take things into their beds and cover them up with their blankets - they know exactly what they are doing.
They take different toys from their basket in the sitting room and put them in their beds too.
So little Alfie might very well take a liking to small things and start stowing them away!!
Wonder what he will take a fancy to first!

Sounds like they are having a lot of fun together. We love the picture of their chow bottoms.

It appears as she is looking over at Alf and asking "does this make my butt look big"?

Alf if you know what is good for you just say no... it looks OK,

Alf is fond of all things material! He loves socks, clothes, his blanket, my slippers  He is wise enough not to take Millie's blanket though :D Like M&M, he knows what he is up too as he really runs fast with his prize then sits on it  Bless him though, he never damages anything. I hope he sticks to larger things....

Ginger apparently doesn't think its fun to take things unless evryone knows she has it. She likes to go find her a treasure and then carry it around in front of everyone. I think she hopes we will chase her down and it will become a great game.
Alf is such a handsome furball. I love the paw prints in the mud!

Butters has never been much of a thief even too lazy for that. He did use to steal my ponytail holder out of my hair. But that was just a ploy to get me to chase him!!!

They're really having so much fun! Now I'm a bit jealous of you guys who have 2 chowlings.... I wonder what would hubby think of it??

Don't worry little man, soone enough you'll be the one taunting Ms. Millie and she'll be one all tuckered up  (what would happen then if she also wanted to be carried! )

Layla, GREAT pics they sure look like they are in their glory running and playin' in and by the water!!LOVE THE ONE OF MILLIE ON THE ROCK :D
I think Kyra is a theif too.....she ALWAYS has something she isn't supposed to have..... :-? I never thought about her stashing stuff for later so she can make me say "WHAT IS THAT??? WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?? :-? HUMMMM Maybe I shoud check her bed???
Funny....Kearra used to be the BIG ONE and then one day my Mother-in-law came over and she said "Look the BIG ONE keeps biting the LITTLE ONE.....when I looked she was refering to Kyra....seems like from that day on EVERYONE refers to Kyra as the BIG ONE...not even sure when that happened
Layla, I couldn't stop laughin' Millie has the same expression on her face with you holdin' her as she did when your dh did :laughloud: She just LOVES to be held your can tell  What a BIG BEAUTIFUL GIRL SHE IS!!!

Thanks Vicster, Millie is so playful down at the lake, she loves it SO much. I love the sand in their coats as well

Millie tolerates these things well huh. She knows that she'll get rewarded for it  DH actually had to pass her to me for that shot, I can't pick her 60 pound butt up anymore! Alf though, he loves to be picked up & will grunt then snuggle into your shoulder & gives kisses. Such a little lover that boy, shame my days of picking him up are nearly over
