I don't look like a chow no more :(
But I am damn sure cute!!!! I LOVE this, I run and run and run and it was so funny because I came home last night and the cats didn't recognize me and kept hissing at me!! (and some people say they are the smarter one?? LOL)
Well, there was good news and bad news last night. Good news was no drugs AT ALL!! Hooray! I was a brat(as mama put it) and would not come out of the cage. They tried to call mama and daddy but their cell phone didn't get it, so they came back when they were supposed to pick me up and I had not even been touched yet , And it was an hour until closing. So, mama came and got me out and her and daddy stayed with me, and the groomer was real nice. She said she would all she could before closing. So, they began shaving me. She barely got me done and she apologized for not making me look 'neat' due to time.....I think I look rugged She didn't do my tail (mama did that today, and not too shabby, if I do say so myself!) Mama also has to work more on my head, she said it still looks 'choppy' but she will fix it.
I am having so much fun! The only problem is that I get COLD outside and so mama is going to buy me another sweater and she is going to put me in my jammies today!
Anyways, here are some pictures!!

That's adorable! I know lion cuts are sort of looked down on due to the cold/too much sun, but they really are so cute!! Angel had one last year when she came to live with me and people stoped her everyday to saw how cute it is!!!!!
What was the reason for the new do?
Lucky you Chingers!!!

Thanks Everyone!
Rough coat, you can't tell by his picture but we actually left between 1/2 and 3/4 inch left. I am 5 months pregnant and am on restricted activity and cannot keep up with his winter shed. I did not want him to get matted and have to be shaved completely. Even the groomer said she could not believe how thick his coat was, it would have been hours upon hours of non stop grooming. Which I normally wouldn't mind(If I did, I would not have gotten a chow )But for right now, it was best.

I wouldn't worry about Chinger's coat. It will come back. He may need another cut by July/August.
The first year when I got Luna, I had no idea about coats, fur, never mind knowing anything about a chow. She had a gorgeous coat that first winter, -30C for weeks on end. The colder it got, the nicer her coat looked. What a surprise in May, tufts of fur everywhere, on the couch, carpet, the backyard looked like it had snowed. I brushed, and brushed, I'd fill three grocery bags with fur easily. I failed to do her backside. Vet said it's gotta go or hotspots. Hotspots?
I bought a shaving kit at Wal-Mart and went at it. By July, all fur was back. September rolled by, she was ready for winter. Twice during those 10 years I needed to shave her. Her fur always came back prettier than before. At twelve she still had a nice coat. The fur was a bit sparse on her tail.
