Me-e-e...I think we should figure out who wants to go, then see what is a fair distance for everyone to go. Not that your place isn't an option (and a generous offer as well) Sharon. I'd just hate for anyone who wants to come not be able to because of distance. Anyway, I'm in.

Midwest chowfest bound!!!!!!!!!
I would love to come to chowfest!
Hopefully, I will have a chowboy soon and he can play with all the other chowkids!

I have an idea for the place if enought folks find it convenient...

Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas! It's an hour NW of Little Rock. Pretty much in the center of the U.S.
Besides being beautiful, it is reasonable in price! The park huge and is free to the public. At the top of the mountain, you can see seven states!
There are cabins to rent, camp sites, or a lodge to stay in.
The entire mountain top is a park.
So what do you guys think?

That sounds nice! Do those cabins allow pets?
I'm jealous, I want to go to chowfest (can you hear the whine in my voice as I say that..LOL).
Maybe I should organize an EAST COAST CHOWFEST for th PA, MD, VA gang. Hmmmm..

LuLu, when we get a list of all serious partyers, we are going to try and find a centrally located place, where those that can only spend an afternoon can attend, if possible. Myself, I plan on an overnight if I have to travel too far, but not everyone would be able to do that. Most likely it will be further north than Arkansas, though that does sound like a beautiful place.

Not to worry, Mandy. I think there is going to be an Eastcoast chowfest as well. We're just early planners. I know there are chows on the east side of the states I would be honored to meet, yours included, of course!

there is a place on the East Coast where I know that the Golden Retrievers have a yearly event...people and their dogs camp out there for almost a week...I will find out the name and place - it's probably a place where a Chow Chow event could happen...I'll post it for you later.

It will most likely be somewhere around there, when everyone who wants to go chimes in. I know we will be heading south for sure! What fun we will have! This is a list of doggy parks by state I found. When we decide on a city and state, we can see what is available for us.

Anyone is welcome, of course! I tried to look at the frapper map, but not all of us are on it. Also, it was unavailable earlier today.

I bet the chows above the Mason Dixon Line are in chow heaven with this winter blast!!!
My hubby just called from work and said it is 3 degrees in Wilmington, Ohio tonight! All he has on is his uniform and a thin airline issued trench coat. He's freezing!
So, if you look up to the sky tonight and see bright lights jerking all over the place, it's not a UFO, it's my husband's shaking hands on the yoke of a jumbo jet!!!

We got alot of snow, but it came in about a half a foot short of the original predictions. Lily and Pip have mostly been hanging out in the plowed driveway (all 10 minutes I allow). Lily decided to go soil up the virgin snow in the backyard, but was at a loss what to do when the snow went over her privates. She finally pushed the snow down a bit with her tush, and then picked it up again to spend a frozen penny. She stuck her face in the snow as she did this...it looked kinda odd.

Just to throw out some suggestions, how does May sound? Not too warm, not too cold, not too wet, and before high school graduation parties on the weekends.

We are in Southern Ohio... in the middle of a snow storm right now... although by Michigan standards, I'm sure 7" is just a dusting!

The cabins are primitive with old wood floors, I'm feel like they would allow pets. But, I'm going to search for a website and check this out more thorougly.
