Painful to pass stool after neutering

My chow chow is about 7 months old and was neutered two days ago. We noticed the next day that when he tried to pass stool, he yelped in pain and ran away half way through. His stool looks normal but it seems he can’t squat like he used to. Is this normal? Does it just take time for it to heal before he can pass stool without pain?

For the first week after surgery, you can feed your spayed dog only the softest possible food - soaked dry food, canned food without hard bits, mousse, soup put through a blender. After the first week, you can gradually switch to firmer food, but remember that sterilized dogs need less food than before surgery. Chances are you've overfed your chow or are feeding him inappropriate food. If he is still in pain, give him CBD https://www.rentonreporter.com/national ... -for-dogs/. Until you go to the vet, just be sure to follow the dosages.
