I love head shots. They remind me of school portraits, only for chows (and they look lots better than a kid in school would). Very handsome!

Yes....Jake has very soft head-fur. Almost like cotton. He has a very thick coat overall so he requires daily brushing.

Gorgeous! :D Why did I think that cinnamon Chows who have the black muzzles lose them in adulthood?

Is he still a puppy? My chewie had the black snout for almost a year. He is gorgeous! I just thought that fur kinda looked like puppy fur. What a beautiful head shot. I did trim chewie fur around his head into the big puff ball once and he just kept looking at me all pathetic like he was embarrassed. But boy, if he looked like that... I would have kept it!!

Beautiful chowling! How heavy is he now - he looks to be a big boy. My Milly and Mabel are quite small - just reaching breed standard for bitches.
I would love a boy chow.

Jake is actually on the small side for a male chow. He is 52lbs. His sibling brothers are much larger. Whatever Jake lacks in size, he more than makes up for in looks and personality. I know I'm bias, but I think he is one of the best looking Chows I've seen. When Jake is out in public you just have to see the way people react. He always brings a smile and children go bonkers.

After losing my first Chow after 14 years, I did an intensive 6 month worldwide search for another Chow. I contacted breeders, went to dog shows, made as many contacts as possible. I finally found a wonder family breeder in Tracy California that was about to have a litter. I made the contact, spent time getting to know them and they spent time getting to know me. I was very lucky to get Jake. It was a frustrating search, but a happy ending.

Yes...I did use this site when I was looking for Jake. I recall being counseled by the Administrator that this site was not to be used for that purpose.

Oh he is a handsome feller isn't he? In the first photo, my first thought was that his hair kinda looks like one of those dandelions that have gone to seed that you blow on, you know?? But in a good way... very soft & fluffy and adorable.

By the way, welcome to the site!

Beautiful chow boy. Now I hope Dreamdancer keeps his muzzle, if he grows up to look even half as good as Jake I'll be so happy....(of course I'll be happy no matter what)

Are you kidding?! Who exactly do you think is going to tell you stop here? Bring 'em on!! We LOVE pictures!! He's tooo cute! Special Dark is also 52 lbs (he's got a treat belly I'm assuming  because out vet wants him to be at 48 lb. so we have some work to do), but Jake looks like most of his weight is his hair! :D He's so huggable looking!!!
