Surprised and sad
I was surprised and sad to see cc.org sharing this picture on Fb. How can anyone think that this is how a chow is meant to look. I appeared to be the only person who commented against it on the share. Am I alone here, too, in thinking this is not the way that chows should be going. This puppy can barely see

Re: Surprised and sad
That does make me sad because I thought for a moment when seeing the chow that won best of breed in the Westminster that they were moving towards a more healthier looking chow chow...sad indeed.
Re: Surprised and sad
That's terrible!
Re: Surprised and sad
There have been others on this site pictured, maybe you have seen them. One had a tragic ending during surgery to correct an eye condition; so sad for everyone concerned. As they say "Do not fool with Mother Nature." Would corrective plastic surgery help, though it is cruel either way, with or without.
Re: Surprised and sad
My point was and I would still like an answer from those that moderate the FB page is why cc.org was sharing the pic. It seems out of character and against what they stand for to me but maybe I have got this site wrong.

Re: Surprised and sad
I understand your concerns Sirchow. i hadnt seen the FB post, nor any other photos of this dog. I was hopeful that perhaps its a bad angle shot or otherwise out of context. Other than the squint, it seems to be a good looking dog, and it appears fairly sunny.
Not my usual take on things, i tend to be more negative, but hoping its just not a great photo.

I don't go to the FB site. But I don't like the looks of this puppy. Not sure why anyone would post the picture, according to every thing I've read a chows should have a distinctive stop from forehead to nose, and the nose shouldn't be so squished that it connects with the forehead.
You're right Sirchow it is disappointing the cc.org posted that picture.

I've just found this quite by accident on FB and commented also - I'm suprised at the number of positive comments. People must be really stupid! Chow puppies are cute enough without having to be over-bred in this way.

I saw this on fb, to be honest I just saw a gorgeous fluffy bundle, that I thought had been fluffed up for photos. I can see what you lot are saying though.
