Puppy Chow

Hello, my family and I have been very interested in getting a chow chow. This will be our first time getting a puppy, and would like expert tips from other chow chow lovers. We live in Texas, and know that there are akc registered breeders within this state. We realize $1800 for a puppy is quite expensive, and would like to hear of any other breeders/recommendations, akc or not, that are just as reputable but not quite expensive. I' m living in the Philippines so can't help with the breeders. Just wanted to mentions that there is already a ton of information in the different forums.
Health, food, behavioral, grooming it is all there. enjoy reading and good luck with the puppy.
