Blue chow female puppy going to rescue

Post by Boogie and Linda »

I know there are posts that come up every once in a while from people asking whether they should get a puppy from a breeder or get a rescue chow (which they take to mean an older chow). I thought I would give everyone a heads that a blue female puppy is going to rescue in Northern California and she should be available for adoption soon. She is currently at the county shelter by me so we visited her today. The poor little girl was terrified in there. She is in the lost section, not the adoptable section, so there were lots of other dogs in there. It was sad. The other dogs were all barking and full of commotion and she was curled in a ball in the back of her kennel terrified. The shelter was super busy (mostly with people retrieving their lost dogs, thank god) so we were not able to take her out of the kennel. The poor little thing kept coming over to see us but there was so much noise she would get scared and we could tell she wanted to hide but there was nothing in her kennel to hide in. Her little tail was between her legs and he eyes looked so scared. She was so small to be in there all alone. I wanted to give her a hug. I am very happy that she is not in danger though. The shelter estimates her to be 5 months old. Unless she is going to be on the small side, I think she may be younger than that.

Linda, member duallypilot and his wife, Stacy (its expressions) are looking for a puppy. They are the couple who adopted and rescued Mia from Florida (http://forum.chowchow.org/viewtopic.php ... 4&start=50 & sadly http://forum.chowchow.org/viewtopic.php ... ia#p147512). If the rescue is open to an out of state adoption, they might be interested. Here is their latest thread: http://forum.chowchow.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12708 Maybe PM Jerrald and Stacy and see if they are open to the pup. Also, member Piff Poff is thinking of a girl puppy. If we were able to get Neelaa up to Roxana maybe if Piff Poff is interested, this little girl can be a Canadian too?

The rescue she is supposed to be going to does do out of state adoptions. I think they may have done a Canadian adoption before too but I am not sure. I will IM DuallyPilot too. There is a picture of her on the shelters website http://www.theanimalshelter.org in the stray animal section. They have her name as Bear.

She's right here and she's calling "Oh, Henry!": http://www.petharbor.com/results.asp?se ... dog&PAGE=3

Looks like a miniature (baby) Willow (Lori's Willow).

Linda, which rescue will be taking her in? And do they have a foster home lined up for her already?

Lou, I was thinking the same thing. She could pass for willows younger sis. Such a beauty.
Again this justifies how heartless nd cruel the human race could be. She doesn't belong in a shelter!

I can't see her either on the website and wasn't able last night either. I know that the shelter was getting her ready for the rescue so I just thought someone else had picked her up and they just didn't update me that they didn't need my help. How odd.

:( Maybe it shows on my computer because I opened the link when it was on the site and the info is still embeded. Just trust Janet and me, baby girl bares a striking resemblence to Willow. Very cute.

Linda, maybe call the rescue to see if she was adopted?

I don't see her on the link or on the site. How strange.

She is supposed to be going to Chow Chow Rescue of the Sierra Foothills. I received a message asking if I would be interested in fostering which was odd becuase I had just seen the puppy on the website the day before and was wondering about her. I have not spoken to the rescue directly, we have been playing phone tag. When I did go to the shelter they told me that the rescue had a hold on her and that they had her spayed the day before so she would be ready to go soon.

I didn't get to see her either. Maybe, her parents picked her up?
I hope the best for her.
