Colonel's eyes-post surgery
Here is a close up of Colonel post-op.
His entropian surgery went well, he's healing nicely.
It looks strange the way they shaved around his eyes.

BAMA: Thanks for posting the picture. It looks like his eyes are healing very nicely! I showed Olivia and she just said "people are weird...but he's sooooo handsome no matter what". Olivia then gave out a big ol' Basset aroooooo! That's Basset for I really really really miss you!

Awwww...he still looks very handsome! I'm so happy the surgery went well, I bet he feels SO much better.
When Dakota had her surgery to remove her eye they had to shave a large patch around her eye(eyebrow and all!) and it took a good few months before it was back to normal. By the way, I actually DID buy Dakota a pair of those doggy sunglasses (doggles). This was before we removed her bad eye and when she still had vision in one eye, I figured it would be good for her to wear while out on walks so she doesn't walk into a branch or stick on her blind side. Well...that didn't go over so well, I put them on her and she planted her butt on the sidewalk and refused to budge so long as she had them on. Another 50 bucks down the toilet.

We found the price to be very different from our regular vet who offered to do it whilst Millie was being spayed and the eye specialist. If your vet is thinking about it you may want to ask them to refer you to a specialist now. They can do 'puppy tacking' which is FAR less invasive & much cheaper (we paid $200) and the aim is that they grow themselves out of the problem as the lid is held in the correct position as they grow. We went with the specialist in the end as we had a lot of faith in them. It cost $800 I think??? Money very well spent though. Millie is sooooo much happier now.
Thank you Elodie!

Poor baby, lost an eye.
I can't help but giggle, picturing Dakota pouting and sitting her furry butt on the sidewalk!!!

It depends on how many lids are involved.
Colonel's surgery was right at $800.00
Of course, you gotta add office visits and meds on top of the $800.00.
We had it done by a surgeon, as opposed to having it done by our vet.
