My chow's skin problems!

My dog has been back and forth to the vet for a year now for his skin. He gets blistering dry and bloody patches across his muzzle. It had never progressed passed his muzzle until recently, this pa's month he now has the dry blisters around his ears and his front leg armpit areas, and back near his tail. After 3 different vet clinics and 9 visits in the past year I'm becoming hopeless. I am hoping that other owners can point us in the right direction. Our boy Yager is a rescue. Estimated to be 8-10 years old right now. We have had him 5 years now and that's just not enough time, it never is. We have tried different foods, skin scrapes for mange are negative. He has had many blood tests and skin scrapes. The vets have found nothing. My area is upper peninsula Michigan if anyone is in the nearby area that may have a better vet to recommend. The good knowledgeable vets are few and for between this far north. We have gone to packerland in green bay wi, blue cross in appleton wi, and hometown in Escanaba mi.

I'm sorry to hear about Yager's struggles. Have you considered allergy testing or a veterinary dermatologist?
