Breeders / dogs up for adoption in CT?

Breeders / dogs up for adoption in CT?
I’m in Connecticut and I’ve been reading articles on reputable breeders and there seems to be none in new England or within 3 hours of CT. I also have the issue of young kids and a cat so a lot that are up for adoption aren’t a perfect fit. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
