Cat watching
Cocoa and I were walking on the weekend and she saw a cat about half a block away, of course we had to stop and watch.
I saw a cat!
It went that way.
It's not coming back is it?

Re: Cat watching
Where did the puddy tat go ?? It's so wild for me to see Cocoa that look in her eyes....ditto !!!! you know what I mean....Beautiful is right...
Re: Cat watching
I know exactly what you mean Nancy. You can just see what she is thinking with that twinkle in her eye.
Re: Cat watching
Is she really that calm, or not? When Dim Sum sees a cat, he really want to go after it. Sometimes he will sit, as if to say, "please, can we get closer?" But it is not a relaxed sit at all. You can tell he wants to jump up and chase it down...and pull my arm out of its socket!
Re: Cat watching
The cat ran across the path and out of sight right away and it was a fair distance away. If it was closer she probably would have been more excited. She is starting to get used to the cats and the fact that she isn't going to catch one so she is getting better at not lunging at them. Rabbits and squirrels are a whole other story.

Re: Cat watching
Cute! Reminds me of my Tippy girl. When she was young she would try to chase squirrels and cats (caught a couple squirrels) but as she aged, she lost interest and settled for just watching them.

Re: Cat watching
Cocoa is getting better with the cats Jess (unless they taunt her) but if I let her I am sure she would be able to catch a squirrel without too much effort. She stalks them like a cat and when she gets close she tries to pounce on them. Of course with the jingling of her dog tags the squirrels hear her coming and make their getaway. She has only seen bunnies a couple of times and those she just wants to tear after.

I'm pretty sure Ty has that same twinkle in his eyes in the newer pictures I posted of him looking in the hedges...She is so beautiful! I love how nice and red she is.
Re: Cat watching
Thanks Tychowgirl, I love her coloring too. You do wonder what they are thinking when you see that twinkle don't you?

Re: Cat watching
We have some cats in the neighborhood that are definitely taunting the dogs. This morning I was walking past a gate at one of the condos in the are and there was a cat sitting on top of each pillar beside the gate and one on the ground just behind the gate, Cocoa was not impressed, I wish I had a camera with me but I would have needed someone else to take the picture because I needed both hands to hold the leash!
Re: Cat watching
If nobody has told you today, Cocoa is a beautiful Chow. What a sweetheart!
Re: Cat watching
Thanks Audrey, of course I think she's beautiful but it's nice to hear from other people.
Re: Cat watching
Audrey, Cocoa wants to say thanks for the compliment!
