Please say a prayer for my mum

Post by BeckiHutton »

I hope nobody minds me putting this here. Just need some prayers to help my mum get through a very tough time.....

On Christmas eve 2 years ago my mum was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer to her breast and spine. They managed to completely remove the tumour from her breast but there was nothing they could do for her bones apart from shrink it as much a possible and try to keep it at bay. Unfortunately they had to stop this treatment because the herceptin that she was on was damaging her heart and she was on the verge of a heart attack.....

Anyway, she has been feeling very tired lately and on Friday she had a mini stroke. Luckily it didn't cause any damage. We were actually quite thankful for this, because it turns out she has 2 brain tumors  she starts intense radiotherapy on Monday, but we are not sure what the outcome of this will be. Please say a prayer for her in hope that she is ok.

I am sorry that I put this on here, I just need friendly people to talk to about it because I have been in bits :(

Thanks everyone

I'll say a prayer for your Mum. My Mum was taken off chemo just before christmas as it wasn't doing anything for her, she's holding her own at the moment and is even strong enough to come for a visit this year. My Mum complained to her surgeon when he told her, we've done all we can, he  and said 'you've been lucky, you've already had 5 years more than you should have...'

SO have a hug from me and a purple kiss from Henry for your Mum and make sure you get some happy memories in!

You're very welcome!

My grandfather and my great-uncle both had leukemia. They were diagnosed in late 2000 and early 2001. And they both passed in early February of 2004. So, I know how scary it is...

Thanks. My Mum is good at the moment, we just have to pray the moment is a long one, the 'cure' she could have has already been done (5 years ago) and can't be done again

Hi
I'm so very sorry to hear about your Mum. Enjoy the time you are spending together, smell the flowers and feel the sunshine. Maybe take some pictures and focus on the here and now if you can, cause that is what and where you are both.
Happy thoughts to you both.

I'm sorry you are going through this. We are here to support you, but also tell little Lily your fears and sadness. She may be young, but she is an old soul, and a wonderful listener. Also, she will keep your secrets.

Take a breath, and find your center. By rude, I assume you mean *Censored Word*...not cool. Is this something to break up over? Only you can say, but for sure he violated your trust. Men can be pretty clueless sometimes. (Sorry guys, but it is true). Just don't do anything rash, and know this too shall pass. Cliche, I know, but it really is true.

I'm hoping things will get better for you. Times like this are no fun and it's so difficult to keep smiling.

Hiya guys.

I am sorry that I put this post up here. I was just feeling a little bit sorry for myself and wanted unjudgemental people to talk to and I know that you guys are good at giving advice so thought I would come here.

Just a little update things are looking up. Rob and I have talked through things and we are going to try to put this behind us. Also my mum started her treatment a week ago and it seems to be going well so far, but wont get any results for a while. Fingers crossed eh

No need to apologize. Sometimes telling your cyberpals is the healthiest thing you can do. Take care of yourself first.

Thank you for your news everyone

I have another update in my mum and it's not so good this time.
My mum has been having problems breathing recently and she had x rays taken and apparently she has shadows on her lungs. I don't quite know what this means though

They will investigate the shadows, the problems breathing could just be a side affect to her treatments, try not to worry until you have to, that's my motto. {{{o}}} hugs

UPDATE****

Ok, so I have just heard from my mum and she is back in hospital. She had a blockage in her bowel which caused her stomach to grow immensely. She is on her way to surgery now because it has perforated her bowel. She could end up with a colostomy bag :( as if she didn't have enough to deal with.
