thanks Debbie :D
I know I had mentioned in another thread that Chyna got accupunture for about 2 years from her Holistic vet, along with special herbs.
she didn't get any relief and continued to get worse,so I feel the Holistic vet kind of gave up on her. so we are back to conventional medicine and her regular vet,who I do love.
I feel that I have tried everything to try to get her in a kind of remission but that hasn't happened for her yet.
I am going to visit her in the hospital now as they are keeping her a another night or 2 :(
she hasn't eaten for several days so I am bringing her some chicken, chicken livers and some of her favorite treats and hope something will appeal to her.

Ahhh, I hope she gets her appetite back. Keep us posted.

PS -- I was thinking you had said something about seeing a holistic vet before, but I can never remember anything.

How is Chyna doing? Did she eat anything you took for her? I can't imagine what you're going through. I almost lost it when I had to visit Tod after he was bitten by the snake.

yes Phyllis,Chyna ate the chicken, she didn't want to but Mom can be very persistant
we are having a blizzard today but I went to pick her up after work.she came home with a pain patch and lots of antibiotics.
she is very happy to be home but she will be staying downstairs for a while with her Nana so I won't have to carry the little elephant up and down the stairs.
she had to be home tonight with us for the New Year!
she will go back to the ortho vet next Tues.
thank you for asking :D

I'm so sorry to read that Chyna is not doing well. We are sending our best get well wishes to her.
Lori & Willow
PS--Willow would eat baby food when she didn't feel like anything else. I just got her the 1st or 2nd stage turkey, chicken or beef so there were no spices or anything. She would just lick right from the little jar.

thank you all for thinking about Chyna :D
she is very happy to be home with her Mom(not with Kai  )
she will not eat =; I am trying everything and will get some baby food tonite.
shes a fussy eater to begin with, some days she'll eat chicken and the next day she acts like I'm trying to poison her :?
yes, she's back to being the Princess that she is.
shes limping terrible but got up at 5:30 am  to try to walk with me and Kai.she hasn't done that for months.
unfortunetly,we just had a big snow storm and theres so much salt on the side walks and the road it is difficult walking.
she did go around the block this morning.
she will see ortho vet on Tues. and hopefully she won't need surgery.
I will keep you posted and thanks again :D

Awwww, I'm glad to hear that Chyna wanted a little walk. I resort to canned food with Millie, she loves that stuff  But only for about a day at a time... Alf is more than happy to eat her left overs

It's good to hear she's feeling better and I hope she heals quickly. You might try some liquid B-complex vitamins to help *stimulate* her appetite, just dose them into her cheek pouch. She might accept canned green tripe, or you might pulvervise her meats in the blender with some broth, etc, and use an oral syringe to feed in her cheek pouch. Small amounts every few hours might be easier for her. She's been through an ordeal. Give her our love and best wishes.

thank you Kiwani :D
would I find the B complex liquid at a drug store or a health food store?
she just won't eat anything [-( last night I bought all kinds of baby food, turkey from the deli, and yes, even hot dogs.
her Dad brought her boneless spareribs,her favorite and nothing =;
I have been putting the baby food on her tongue and she can't spit it out
I know its the high doses of antibotics that make her sick :(

You should be able to find the liquid B-complex in either type of store, but if not, then you can use the B-complex powder capsules - just open a capsule, mix with a couple of spoonfuls of water and squirt into her cheek pouch. Yes, the antibiotics kill the B-complex factory in the gut, and those vitamins play a very important role in digestion and overall health.

Chyna is often in my thoughts. Sending all best wishes...

The other thing Willow rarely will refuse is tuna. It's not something they should have all the time but if she's not eating at all then worth a shot.

Chyna has never been a fish eater but the baby food is working best because when I put it on her tongue she can't spit it out.

I hope Chyna continues to improve. You need to take care of yourself too.
I found this stuff on-line. I don't know anything about the ingredients, but it says it's good for dogs when they're off their diet. http://www.petnutritionproducts.com/8in ... -p-20.html

Sullivan was a tuna eater, it was her favorite food and the last thing she ate. However, if Chyna doesn't want it, it's not worth it. Hope you find the "formula" that works.

Re: Polyarthritis- Chyna

yes,kind of good news.
today Chyna saw her orthopedic vet and he thought she is doing OK.
I could tell he was a bit disappointed that Chyna's still limping pretty bad,but we talked alot about her illness and he is very knowledgable as her Primary vet is too.he understands whats happening but the bad news (as we know) is that we can't prevent her flare ups and they are causing perment damage to her joints.
I have to give Chy physical therapy at home.shes not going to like that.
like any auto immune problem its just a day at a time.
on a good note she is eating better and thank you for the baby food tip.it helped us alot :D
