New to site
Hello. I have been "lurking" on this site for awhile as a guest, and finally decided to register and be a real member. My name is Cy and I own a rescued chow that I have named Tai. Tai was owner surrendered to our vet because he was no longer wanted. Our vet called me and asked me to foster until he could find Tai a home. Well Tai found his forever home with me. Tai was not quite a year old when I got him. He needed to be brought up to date and all of his shots and he needed to be neutered, which my vet took care of at cost for me. Tai did need entropian surgery in his left eye, which I just had done and I just had him microchipped. So he is all healthy and up to date on everything. He's a wonderful boy.. and big. He weighs almost 75lbs. He is a little afraid of people he doesn't know, but I feel his trust in me is growing.
I thought I would add some pictures of Tai:
Thanks for reading and I hope to be a part of this site for a long time.

Re: New to site
Thank you for the warm welcome. No need to thank me for giving Tai a forever home. It's me who's lucky to have him. I'm also very lucky I have a vet who cares. He admitted later on that he knew when he called me to ask me to foster, that I'd never let him go. I consider myself lucky because his previous owner didn't want him and took him to my vet to be put to sleep. And I'm lucky because I do have some background on Tai, how he lived and why he was surrendered. His name was Jake and he was kept out in a kennel... never had the socialization he should have and had never been inside until I brought him home and amazingly, Tai has never pottied in my apartment. He'd never had a bath and had not been brushed/combed like he should have been. So it took us awhile to get him cleaned up and brushed out to look like he does now, but it's still a work in progress since he's still loosing his puppy coat. He needed to be brought up to date on vaccinations. So I've done nothing, I just get the fun and companionship of one of the sweetest natured chows I have ever seen. Oh... I did change his name. He was NOT a Jake, but a Tai Ling.
