Neo-Predef powder

Post by fillyok »

Okay, I've read all the posts on here about hot spots and have tried almost everything people have said works for them...but nothing works on Ping's leg. She started out with one small hot spot and now I've noticed another one further up on the same leg (left front).
I've tried the following:
1. keeping the spot cleaned out with antiseptic spray
2. neosporin and wrapped so she can't get to it
3. Listerine
4. Tea tree oil spray for hotspots

I even bought some Gold Bond medicated powder, but decided not to use it. I finally resorted to buying some Neo-Predef powder once I found a site that sold it without a prescription. Has anyone else used this before? I just ordered it today so I should get it sometime next week. I'd like to know if it's safe and if it will clear up the hotspots.

I wouldn't mind taking Ping to the vet, but she's such a wreck whenever I have to take her for her check-up/vaccs. I found out they "labeled" her aggressive because of the way she acts at the vet. When I noticed it in her records, I told the vet and tech that she's not aggressive, she's scared (probably unsocialized is more like it). She's even skittish with me and she's been here for over 2 years. I think it's in her nature. I've also noticed that Ping picks up on my stress level and it's been a bit higher due to issues at work.

Any suggestions?? i tried getting a pic, but she took off outside.

Hi , it is safe to use but if she licks it she might drool alot. So try to keep her from licking at it. It has a numbing effect which helps with pain but does make dogs drool if they get it in their mouth, which is part of the reason it is a prescription. It does work on open hot spots to help them heal as it also is an antibiotic. I would still think a trip to the vet if the spot / spots don't heal soon. Maybe an allergy shot is necessary.

That's what I was afraid of...the reason they're staying is she licks them. I'm going to see if I can get her an appt at Tod's vet this week. It's just down the street, so maybe she won't get too wound up with a short drive rather than the 30 minute one it takes to get to her usual vet. Thanks
