In Memory of Grommitt

Post by mswhitney »

My mother-in-law just sent me this email. I haven't shared it with the hubby or our Chow "Baby" yet, but their dog Grommitt had to be put down today. They are an older couple, who have had Grommitt a Chow mix rescue in their home for many years. I met him a few times on visits to S. Cal, and I would speak to him over Skype when chatting with them - he always came over and chimed in. Over the past couple of years, his legs had been starting to give way and my mother-in-law was having trouble picking all 70lbs of him up when he fell or getting him into the car for vet and grooming visits. Since her husband has Alzheimer's, taking care of the both of them was a big strain and it was not getting better.

I am posting the picture with her tribute to him for all to share. He was a well loved pet and family member who will be missed very much!

Remember this, and also be persuaded of its truth - the future is not in the hands of fate, but in ourselves.
