I must admit Nikki can be lazy but never saw that trick??? Maybe Bramble found this more relaxing when her legs hurt her??? Nikki is always looking at her bowls like something is going to pop out and get her. Shes very odd when eating and drinking always ready to jump back..

OMG...that is so cute! Sometimes Molly will eat from her bowl laying down. Not very often, though.

I had a feeling this is about as lazy as it gets  :laughloud: It is just that she lies at the window a lot and cant be bothered to stand up when she is thirsty so she pushes herself across the carpet on her stomache and now, being a creature of great habit, she thinks she HAS to lie down to drink out that bowl. She doesn't lie down at the kitchen bowl. (Not yet anyway!!)

hahahah thats so cute! max does that same sprawl when hes sleeping in the kitchen but never when hes eating, he does however (and it doesn't matter if im here at my house or at my parents or a friends) he will take his food out of his bowl and walk to the nearest carpeted surface (even if hes already on one) and put the pieces down and pick them up one by one, like hes selecting the finest piece's he always makes me laugh when he does it.

It may be that we misunderstand why they will do this. I think the food goes down the hatch easier this way, since it is a straight line to the stomach. I have a male and female Chow and I've seen Max laying on floor while I'm passing out snacks and he wouldn't even raise his head to get it. He wanted me to put it right in front of his nose. Now, that's pretty lazy. I've also have seen Zeena lie down while eating too.

We agree actually about good position today. We started elevatingfood bowls and found they enjoyed it a lot more. We also have endured the wander to the carpet and eat favoured pieces routine. ROFL

That is amazing!!! Mine both have different habits. Max eats like he is eating a mix of razor blades and food - very odd to watch. And he'll rarely take food from hand. Holly is odd she "slurps" through her food, and sifts out the biscuits (I feed them a mix of biscuits and mince). The mince goes down the biscuits drop out the side. Of an evening I put a bowl of simply dried biscuits down. Max eats them ok, but Holly does the trick of pick one up from the kitchen brings it in the lounge and drops it in front of me then eats it. Think she's dropping a hint to me. I've also noticed on the pic above the tail drop. Both of mine do that either when a bit tired or when eating. Oh and if Im eating and Holly isnt she kind of chunners at me (not quite a growl) and sort of adjusts her footing. I liken it to a child whining and stamping their feet when they don't get their own way!!!

Ok, Emma's either lazy or smart. I stopped buying her big Milkbones, because she would just sit there with it in her mouth, whining. I would have to break them up. So, now I get the small ones, but occasionally, when she's "not up to it", she brings it over and drops it in front of me to break it up. Talk about lazy!

Her food bowl is getting annoying. She sifts through her food and eats what she wants from the dry mix, leaving kibble all over the floor. Lately, due to my partner dropping things in the kitchen, she has taken to scooping up mouthfuls and moving them out of the kitchen so she can sort them out in private. Now I have kibble in the hallway!!!

They are so funny the way they sort their food out. Love the story about Emma bringing the milk bones to you to break up. I think that takes the biscuit, so to speak. :laughloud: =D= =D= =D=

Well the little beat did it again.... Specifically the lazy pose and rug combo. This thread could prove hilarious over time. FengHuang has loved this sheepskin since she was a wee baby.

When Nicky was a puppy he would sleep with his head in the dog bowl and put his paws in or on the water dish.
