Try joining a different web forum. There are many breeders on the site who might be able to assist you. http://www.worldchow.com

You might also want to contact Adopt-a-chow LA or Songshi Kennels (http://www.chowdog.com). They are chow specific rescues. However, thru their rescue efforts, they may know of local breeders.

You could try contacting the local Chow club in Southern California. I think they go by the name Chow Fanciers Association of Southern California. They could probably give you a reference to a local breeder. However, before getting a puppy, it is always important to check the breeder out. If you do a search on this forum, there have been numerous posts about this in the past.

A number of the Chow clubs are listed at this link.

Sue Avila is the contact for CFA & Charlene Grayson is the contact for Golden State. Here are the links to the regional clubs: http://chowclub.org/ccci/content/view/233/91/

Here's a link to chow rescue: http://www.netchows.com/Rescue/

I would suggest you look for a responsible breeder whom you feel comfortable with rather than choosing someone based on their location. Offhand I cannot think of any active show breeders in Orange County however there are many in Southern California. Chow puppies are hard to come by and most responsible breeders have a waiting list. Good luck!

I realize that you are looking for a breeder, but if it is a dog that you are ultimately looking for then please try your local shelter. Right now there are lots and lots and lots of chows in shelters close to you. Many are PUREBRED and most of them will not make it out alive. You have the opportunity, if adding a new pet is your goal, to save a life. If you don't want to go that route, there are MANY rescue organizations with Chows. They have important info about each dog's personality and disposition. Just a suggestion!

If it isn't a dog you are looking for, then ignore all the above and good luck with your search.
