Re: Chows and toys
On the rare occasion that lily does play with toys, she throws them about. You just reminded me oceans. I have also seen lots of YouTube videos of other chows doing the sane thing. I have never known any other dog to do this. Must be another chow thing

hot spot??
OK, so I have just given lily a really thorough groom, and discovered what looks like a hot spot, just above her chest where her collar goes. I will upload a picture. I have tried putting some of my sons nappy rash cream on it for now, which should hopefully stop it from itching. Thankfully it is in...

Re: looking for a bit of advice about a neglected chow
Don't be silly marti, I appreciate your post. And everybody else's. The reason I won't go and speak to them is because they would take it completely the wrong way. I don't know them personally, but they have a bit of a reputation in our town for not taking to kindly to people trying to interfere. I ...

looking for a bit of advice about a neglected chow
At a pub in my town center, there is a chow who lives in one of the pubs. She is a really sweet , lovely little girl. She is actually the reason we got a chow in the first place. I saw her recently, and her fur is soo matted. She clearly is never groomed. Rumor is, she's had bad fleas recently too. ...

It's probably an ear infection. Take him to the vets, just in case. It sounds like it's causing him a lot of problems and making him uncomfortable

Re: Unusual request for Chow Chow owners near London, UK
Lol Sarah. Well, instead of getting one, you could rescue one... there are a couple that came up recently at many tears animal rescue, if you are willing to travel to Wales. I'm not sure if they are still available, though

Wow!! That sounds so romantic. Although I can't help you unless you can come and get us from Suffolk, that sounds like such a lovely gesture! Good luck to the future, and I hope you can find a chow soon!

Re: lily :)
Took lily for her first off lead walk earlier... only a short one... wasn't the best idea. On route there was a *Censored Word* pond which is full because of the bad weather, and she decided she wanted to go for a swim. Thankfully, a nice American man with his dog helped me get her out and catch her...

Re: Eating its own poop...
I've also just noticed, it looks like his fur is falling out of his front legs... It may just be the camera or lighting, but if it is, that is NOT a sign of a healthy chow, and you should get it checked right away

Re: Eating its own poop...
I saw on a program once, that sometimes a bananna will help... It could be that he is not getting enough potassium... Please stop giving him those sweets you have been giving to him, they have faar too much sugsar on them, and really won't do him any good. You coud even take him to thee vets, they m...

Re: this is horrible
It's just awful isn't it. I agree with you victory, he looks very overweight. On the plus side, though... at least he has healthy skin. That is the only good thing I can see with this picture. As others have said, if you want a dog to do this to, get a poodle. Reddog. Lily had her leg shaved for her...
