Re: Yogi needs your help. We need your help. Please look.

No nose thumping or squirt bottle by anyone, Then consider Cesar Milan's techniques? Uhmm. Isn't that contradictory? Myogobear said he wouldn't go physical with Yogi coz of biting risk. Cesar Milan can try to turn around Yogi himself if he's available and if Yogi's case will guarantee media mileage...

Re: Yogi needs your help. We need your help. Please look.

You subject line starts with "Yogi needs your help"...when in fact Yogi needs YOUR help. He is yours and you are the Alpha male in the house. It doesn't sound like Yogi really knows that. And once they get a feel that the role is up for grabs you will have what you have right now. This isn...

Re: Chow found on streets of Atlanta. Need help in rehoming

He looks so much bigger in these photos than real life. He a tiny little fellow, 30lbs I think the vets notes said. Very sweet and docile. He wasn't thrilled about me touching near the base of his tail but he let me know he wasn't comfortable with it so I backed off and he was fine. I really like hi...

Anybody ever try Old west treats? Made in USA, natural, etc, and I can't find any bad reviews other than being expensive.

My answer is D, all of the above. Give him plenty of exercise and an outlet for all that energy and he'll be fine.

Re: R.I.P. Solo

So sorry to welcome you back with such sad news, Sean. I'm not sure if you remember that Zhu had bloated twice too. He underwent a gastroplexy (sp?) as well. Then a month later he bloated again. The ER Vets were really surprised it happened as well. Luckily, I got him in on time. And although his h...

Going tomorrow to have a look at this boy. Maybe for me or my mom who lost her Chow mix in 2009. He is HW positive and needs to be neutered but sounds like a good boy so far.

Dear Sean, My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Tears were rolling down my cheeks as I read about what you and poor Solo went through. People sometimes say they know how you feel, but they really don't. I can honestly say I know how you feel, I had to have my beloved C...

You vet may be giving off a bad vibe, which your pup could pick up on. Frankly I'd find a new vet, and one who was Chow friendly.

Did he ever start eating again? 2 cups for a pup in one day seems like a lot. What are you feeding by the way?

R.I.P. Solo

This past Saturday, Solo developed a Gastric Torsion, aka Bloat, and had to be rushed to the ER. They did surgery and after 36hours he seemed ok. But late yesterday his symptoms came back while under observation at his regular vet. At the advice of my vet I rushed him to the ER again, not the same o...

Hannah

Hannah, the foster turned permanent pack member has been suffering the last 6 weeks. Hannah had some skin problems and after a couple round of meds I noticed her lower gum was swollen and bleeding. So I had her teeth cleaned and some teeth removed as well as some tissue samples taken for a biopsy. I...

Re: Skin Scabs

Solo has had issues with scabs too. They seem to pop up overnight and I have yet to nail down a cause. He gets very few treats but after reading the this and related threads the only treats he gets, those Dogswell chicken jerky things, might be suspect. I just switched him back to Solid Gold Wolf Ki...

A Standard Pomeranian? You know those Standard Pomeranian are not as inbred as a regular Pomeranian. ( No offense to the Standard Poodle people) Debra I was going to say a Pom as well....a REALLY well fed Pom. Or...go with a Pom/Mastiff mix...my old vet used to tell me stories of strange mix...

Re: Chicken Jerky Treats--FDA Warning

I was hesitant about giving them out when I saw the "Made in China" on the back of the bag, but so far no ill effects. They sell them in Whole Foods so I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Jeff, I also found them in Pet Supermarket for about 15 bux a bag.

Weird event opens up old wound...

I wanted to share a odd event today..... I am off this week so I was sleeping in this a.m. and I heard my cell phone ring from inside my jacket pocket. It was right at 9am so I figured it was some telemarketer or the like and ignored it. It only rang a few times, not enough to go to VM and no VM ind...
