Re: AmberLea Piccie's...!!
Amberlea is gorgeous. I would love to see the others. We have a cavalier as well.
I intended to show her if we ever get to that point but really all I want is for her is to be sound and well.

Re: Brambles leg still not better
We are lucky to have one of the best vets in Scotland which receive referals from all over and it is where my daughter works so they take extra trouble. There is a little swelling round her toes which turn slightly out to make walking easier. Swelling round the knee joint but the patella seems fine....

This is heart breaking. I can't imagine what all involved are going through. So so sad.

Brambles leg still not better
Poor Bramble has had her leg in a large bandage now for nearly a week. :( I mentioned before in another post that she had a sore stiffle joint. Well to cut a long story short she has been back and forth to the vet (thank goodness for pet insurance) and nothing has really shown up on Xrays. She has v...

Re: Chow or not? Advice needed.
Congratulations on your new baby. \:D/ For some reason I can't see the photos. :( I too live in UK and have my first chow baby. I really do wonder if our dogs are different in temperament from US chows as I had heard on British sites that they were stubborn and difficult to train but never that were...

Re: Chows and Feet!!
When it comes to licking Bramble's a back girl! Every time you bend down to get something out the cupboard she pulls your top up and gives your back a once over. Feet will do if the back is unavailable. Visitors are never quite sure what to make of it. She also leans heavilly on your legs if you sto...

Re: Curiousity with adding a new chow
He is absolutely gorgeous. Makes me feel all broody though Bramble is only 5 1/2 months so that will have to wait. I think he looks like a Paddy (could be short for Paddington Bear).

Re: Hello from Bramble - I'm new
Thank you so much for all that - I have printed it off for future reference. Bramble is improving and I have been able to take her for a ten minute walk for the last three days without any bad effects. She is still a little stiff when she hops over the edge of our french windows into the garden but ...

Re: Hello from snowy Scotland
I found this on a local vets website and as I thought Chows were a large breed I have been using it as a guide. Please can anyone else comment as I don't know if I am giving Bramble enough exercise? Being a first time owner I tend to worry a little! :? " Large and giant breed dogs like German S...

I haven't had to use a groomer yet but it is great reading all this before I do. You guys have so much experience between you.

Re: Hello from Bramble - I'm new
Thank you all for being so welcoming. This is just the friendliest chowiest place. Poor Bramble has had a little trouble with her left back leg. She couldn't put her foot on the ground or she walked on her tiptoes when she did put it down and couldn't stand up when she sat down. She aso went right o...

Re: Our first few days with Sunshine
I agree with Auddymay about keeping the crate set up. When we got Bramble we were told that she was a "free range" chow and would never take to a crate. I decided to feed her in the crate and by day two began closing the door for a few mins and gradually extended it. I threw tasty treats i...

Re: does anyone else have a pogo chow???
Bramble does this beside me when I make her food because she knows she is not allowed to jump up on me. She bounces on the spot till her food is ready. Thank goodness she doesn't jump that high or she would be on the kitchen counter!

Re: Hello from snowy Scotland
Thank you. Molly is lovely. I am just back from Ring craft classes - what a disaster. Bramble decided she hated the "Judge" and leaped about backwards away from him and would not let him near her mouth. At one point I thought she was going to bite him. I have never seen her behave like tha...

Hello from snowy Scotland
Hello, I am new to this forum. I have a five month old bitch called Bramble and I would like to know just how long I should be exercising her for each day? She walks on pavement for five minutes to get to a path which then leads to a field we are off pavement for around fifteen minutes and then back...
