we had a similar experience and it was food related i put all mine on a hypo allergenic diet as i have more than one food sensitive dog, those denta stix are full of sugar which is funny really as there supposed to be teeth friendly lol so i know what you mean!

Poor Momo, unfortunately in this day and age you will have many experiences like this, alot of people do not put time in to socialise and let their dogs be social, so the dog can lack the skills and canine language required to meet and greet in a proper manner.
