here's my two cents lol ...I promised myself to never feed another dog only kibbles their entire life...the reason is that my beloved chow from 14 years past away last spring and as i was looking for adopting a pet, i came accross a lot of infos on what was really in pet food...so hoping they won't ...

It might not be inherited and be because of the poor condition she was in before you got her. Bad nutrition and lack of exercise can cause those kind of problems too. I think you should contact the organization and tell them how you rescued the dog and I'm sure they might give you a hand. Good luck

Hi! I hope you understood that shaving up to 1/2 inch KEEPS the undercoat, wich is their protection and that I was aware of it when I've decided to do it ?
