Re: Thinking of getting a Chow, but have toy dog. Help?
I don't think it would be a problem as long as you are patient and do lots of positive reinforcement training! With my Chow puppy I took him everywhere with me and even though at first he seemed a little shy, I didn't encourage or discourage any behaviour and just let him sniff and explore on his ow...

Puppy getting big!!
Django is now just over 4 months and is growing into an incredible loving boy! Me and my boyfriend couldn't be happier chow parents and we fall in love all over again every time we see him. He will sit in our laps (even though he sometimes struggles to get his bum on us now as he is getting bigger) ...

Re: How embarrassing!!!
haha oh dear, what a naughty rascal! I took Django to my friends house and he soon found and devoured all the cat food, with the cat looking on with a very unhappy look on his face! They are such cuties though!!

Re: Does Your Chow "Hunt"?
My pup Django doesn't mind my rabbit and happily sniffs him then carries on doing his own thing. I introduced him to my friends cat the other day and he kept trying to play with it, but the cat was having none of it! haha! The only thing that I have noticed him chasing so far is flies...once he sees...

Re: Puppy Crying!
Thank you so much for your replies and I am really sorry if I have upset or offended either of you. I was just told that for the first two minutes you come through the door you should ignore the dog so that he/she doesn't think that it is an issue that you leave or return. I will change my attitude ...

Puppy Crying!
As you know I have a new puppy called Django, he is about 13 weeks now and my boyfriend and I have had him for about 2 1/2 weeks. He is so well behaved, he sits before having his breakfast and dinner, lies down and waits for treats etc. When on walks we practice heel so he isn't allowed to walk ahea...

A couple more pictures of Django! He is an absolute sweetheart, I couldn't ask for a better puppy. He has grown really attached to both me and my boyfriend which I am really happy about and is happiest when we are both in the room. We were worried he would bond with just one of us, I was worried he ...

Meet my new pup Django!
So today my boyfriend and I picked up the gorgeous Django! It feels like so much has happened in half a day already. We picked him up and he was perfect in the car, he laid on my lap and got lots of cuddles from me while the boyfriend was driving. The breeder said he has only been potty trained on p...

Re: New Chow Chow puppy!
I was leaning towards Meeko but my boyfriend wanted Django so we are going with that. I thought that because he is letting me get the breed I want and moving with me to a new place that allows pets with a garden that he should at least be able to choose the name  I will be doing the grooming, ...

New Chow Chow puppy!
So after moving house just so we could get a place with no stairs and a nice patio/garden area my boyfriend and I are finally getting a puppy! I have been speaking to countless breeders, some I have been really happy with, some not. One lady wanted to sell me a puppy for 200, and to ship it overseas...

Re: Would it be fair if we got a Chow pup?
Just to update you, I took your advice seriously and my incredible boyfriend found us a new place that has a patio and outdoor space for a pup, also no stairs so it wouldn't hurt its knees! Now its waiting for the right puppy to come along! Eeeeeeeee :) Thank you for the advice everyone, I really ap...

Would it be fair if we got a Chow pup?
Hi I was just hoping we could get some advice from some experienced chow owners here. I have loved the chow breed for about 4/5 years now and have been reading the forum threads on here for about the last 3. Only recently my boyfriend and I decided that we would love to add an addition to our lives ...
