Raw hide?
Hello,
So I purchased a chew item for my chow since it was made for puppies and designed to clean teeth. So I found out it was raw hide since of the odor it produced. Do you feed your chow raw hide or stay away from it? If you don't what treats do you recommend?
Thanks!

I am interested in purchasing a book on chows. Basically a book that will allow me to learn my chow much better and take better care of the little guy. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

So I was wondering what type of mineral or vitamins causes my chow to eat poop? It happened this morning and I tried to stop him but he always went back for m...

Thanks!

the chow is nipping me...
So I put my chow pup outside in the backyard to do his business and when I came to get him from outside he would run around when I tried to pick him up. So when I finally picked him up he nipped me. He didn't push down or anything but he was wild as if it was end of the world type of movement. So wh...

Re: house train
Well I just got my chow pup, Po, last week and to my surprise he was house trained. He was a few days shy of being 4months when I got him. He would inform me he would want to go out with signs of whimper or give me attention otherwise he would be off exploring the house. Last night was his first acc...

Re: Help!!!.. my chow wont walk on leash..
Thank you for your advice but my question is that lets say we have been there for 30min and he still has not moved... I would have to pick him up to move him. We had a standstill in the backyard for 20min he rather sit there and look out than walk once I hold the leash. The chow is alright with leas...

I posted several time in different sections but I will be a new chow owner soon and he is going to be 4months old. I plan on neutering since there are a lot of benefits to it. How often should I bathe my chow?
I am going to be a new chow owner and he is arriving Thursday so I have some questions about grooming. This part seems to be very subjective since I've seen as frequent as bi-weekly to twice a year and when it gets dirty. I've read that chows do not have a dog scent so how often should I bath him? W...
