Re: Please Vote For TLC Chow Rescue
Ok so this aggravates me. I myself write software for a living and know how to hack but I would never in the world dream of using my knowledge like that! Especially hacking when it comes to NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS! Sounds a bit hypocritical of someone, don't you think? There's always someone that r...

Re: Grooming
My Baloo used to let us brush him very easily, he actually really enjoyed it....until we got to his hind legs. He would hide his legs underneath him if we let him lay down trying to do one side at a time so the only thing that we found worked was getting him to stand up and put our left hand under h...

Re: Holden - Right back leg
Yay for Holden! Hannah just cracks me up too! Question: Did your vet develop the xray on the film and possibly put it on cd? My sister and I had MRI's, CT's, and xrays after a car accident and all the doctors said it was the new thing not to develop every picture but to put it on CD and then only de...

I'm really hope for you, Jeff and Pekoe. I really hope that it never begins to bother her. She's endured enough.

Does anyone know if there's a way to see who's winning? I'm interested to know the standings to see how many more recruiters we need to get to win!

Have you seen the infomercial for peticure (I can't remember the exact name but it's something like that)?
Have you heard or read anything about that? I was considering it but haven't gotten around to researching it yet.

Re: CHOW OPERATION
I would agree that it's most likely a platelet count problem. My friend while growing up had a dog that had too high of a platelet count. Just like people that have high counts, they can die if a blood clot is formed and then moves to the lungs or heart. She actually had to take her dog to the vet o...

Re: Recommendation for Treats
Haha ok. I'll get some of those. Thanks for your help. I'm trying to get everything all ready now even though I have no idea how long it'll actually take to get my dear chow. I like to plan and be ready... I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything to definitely stay away from (in additio...

Re: Recommendation for Treats
I wasn't sure if certain treats weren't good for a chow's digestive track. I know no rawhide but.... I want to get something good (health wise) because I think it might take extra treats during the chow's transition phase. I'm not really sure how he or she will act when they get here but I'm assumin...

Re: Tess & Me
I'm sorry to hear about Tess. I understand losing a chow to cancer is rough. My chow was about half of Tess's age when he died. The one thing that I (today) am happy about, is that I didn't know he had cancer until the day he died. The stupid vet never told us. So I'm glad that I wasn't anticipating...

Recommendation for Treats
What are some good brands/varieties of treats? I don't want to give my chow any junk that could affect his stomach later on. I've read about people giving their chows cut up apple chunks, rice (what type - white, brown?), salmon, etc. Is this really preferred? I always got yelled at when I was a kid...
Re: fetching
My last chow wouldn't fetch persay....If I stood about 5 ft away from him and ROLLED a ball at him, he'd pick it up and dance around moving his head like he was killing it. When he was done, he would drop it on the ground and look at me like "come it get it" so I would go get it and he'd g...

Re: Holden - Right back leg
I just now saw your post, I REALLY hope that Holden is okay!!! If he's as wonderful as you've been to me lately, he certainly doesn't deserve anything bad happening to him. Try to stay positive about it. My last chow walked on his tip toes but he chose a random leg every time he did it. I swear he w...

I just tried posting but it doesn't appear to work so if it comes up later and this turns into a repost, mods, feel free to delete the duplicate. While discussing our options with my fiance, I got out our current policy. It looks like we don't need to do anything and won't be lying and won't be forc...

Re: Homeowner's Insurance
I'm sorry, I didn't want to start any bickering. I'm going to do what I'm comfortable doing within the whole 2 options that I have. I really can't believe I'm being limited like this, I feel like I can't win, just one other thing I hate about Florida. If my entire family hadn't moved here, I think I...

Re: Need help transporting Abby from Ohio to Florida
Don't worry about that. I've already started a savings account just for her that way in case unexpected vet bills arise, it won't hit my wallet so hard if I contribute a little every paycheck. I'm trying to do this all right, I just hope it all works out. I've already gotten so excited. I already pi...

Re: Benefits of Solid Gold
Ok great. Now I know exactly what to look for. So it sounds like they have a pretty similar diet to what we should all eat, minus all the protein. So now I know what kibble is highly recommended. How about treats? I've read about people giving theirs cut up apple chunks, rice (what type - white, bro...

Re: Need help transporting Abby from Ohio to Florida
Haha, you know I'll take whatever I can get! I just started a cause through facebook, now those guys are the ones that I expect to send $1 if anything. It stinks being poor during college! But any at all help would certainly help at least to get going. Then one day after we're off and running, we'll...

Re: Need help transporting Abby from Ohio to Florida
Trust me, I will. If everyone I know between myspace and college and those awesome websites ;) donates just $2, it would cover the entire cost to fly her. But you know it's impossible to get everyone to do it! I'm gonna try real hard though, I'll pester my friends until they finally do it just to ma...
