Re: Pls identify Posh's color
tyrosinase gene mutation? Hmm.. Her eye colors (pupils) are brown in color. I will try to take a pic and post up but definitely not the typical solid color eye color in chows. Hers similar to those of a Husky. Glass look Posh is of the exact same color as in this weblink of poodles. The Brown (Choco...

Re: Pls identify Posh's color
Purplekisses, Posh is not of the same color as the chow to which you query on whether its a chocolate chow. I have to agree with the rest that its a dark red. Posh is genuinely the chocolate color. I know there are no such things as Chocolate Chows but I guess we can only categorize her into the nea...

But like said, shes the exact same color as the brown chocolate poodle in the link Ive provided. Just dat Ive been surfing many forums, but I cant seems to find any chows of the same color as her...

Re: Pls identify Posh's color
Thanks guys. Perhaps due to the computer or camera color resolution, Posh appears to be more to the blackish grey color. But Posh is of the exact same color as in this weblink of poodles. The Brown (Chocolate)

Re: Pls identify Posh's color
We were told shes a cinnamon... She has brown eyes, similar to those you see in Siberian Husky, nose wise is also brown and not black which I guess its a show disqualification since she has a Pedigree Cert.
I'm confused...

Pls identify Posh's color
Hi, can someone pls identify Posh's color for me? I can't seem to find any chows that are of similarity shade/tone as her. The sire is a cream while the mom is a black. Now that she is growing to be 6mths old, her mane of fur is growing out fine. And color wise is still very much the same. More of a...

Re: What made you chose a Chow.
I was mesmerised by Mini schnauzers from young and gotten my first one 7yrs ago. Till date I still love. But I set my eyes on Chows when I first saw one in a pet shop. Very lovely and a mini lion he was. I read up on the breed, wantin to be sure that I can handle this breed which obviously is v diff...

Re: Any way to tell?
Yes. I have enquired a potential show puppy from United Chows before. Agree that their Chows are majestic and beautiful. Phantom does bear some resemblance to the line of Sherae. Enquired before too It will be good to know the line of Phantom though but I guess its goin to be tough... I even ...

Re: Any way to tell?
In Sg, pet shops are allowed to sell livestock which include puppies and kittens. But they will have to apply a separate license for that. Many of the puppies/dogs here are bought either from pet farms, shops or home breeders. Only responsible breeders will look into the line and aim to improve the ...

Re: Any way to tell?
We first saw Phantom in a pet shop and he was all by himself. By then, he was already 4mths. All his other siblings were already long sold, leaving him behind as he had some skin problems and the fur on his leg were shaven off. Even for his body coat, I believe was ever shaven down before too. He wa...

Re: Any way to tell?
Many thanks for the information. I'm in Singapore and wanting Chows in Rescue is not possible at all in Singapore cos there are none. There was once a black Chow for rescue but unfortunately I cant take him in as he was too aggressive cos he was staying alone and lack of socialization and I have oth...

Re: Any way to tell?
Over here in our country, its tough to see the parents, not even to mention the grandparents. When it comes to owning Chowlings here, I guess its more or less like a bet unless we are buyin from reputable breeders. But unfortunately, Chows are considered as one of the rare breeds to be seen ard here...

Re: Any way to tell?
Right. So its definitely more advisable to see the parents in order to determine ya? And if one of the parents has a closed and the other open, it will be a good mix or whichever genes is stronger huh
