Watched the PETA documentary too... poor turkeys... Don't know what's going on with people these days. Maybe it's development of media tech, or more investigative new coverage, but there's much more sick and bewildering news nowadays!! Sometimes I just wish there was a news channel focused o...

Thank you so much, Sabina and Judith Ann. The sengechow website is actually one that I referenced while researching, and I had been reading a lot about what Wilbur's been fed on too. Yes, I shop at Whole Foods and I think I'll be checking out the game processing places. I called several local butche...

Pudding alternates between running away from the vacuum to barking and play bowing to it. It makes cleaning the floors very "interesting", and noisy at times. I don't think I would ever be able to get the vacuum close enough to her to find out...

I've been feeding Pudding Solid Gold Wolf Cub since one week after bringing her home, and have also been adding raw meats, veggies and eggs to her kibble. Since reading natural pet care books and hearing other members' comments on the results of raw diets, I am tempted to give it a go. I have a ques...

I don't know too much about chowling nutrition, but I know most chows won't overstuff themselves on kibble. Pudding eats much less than recommended too, but she always has and is a healthy, happy pup. As long as Coco is checked out by the vet after the antibiotics and everything is fine, I would jus...

You do put it best, Judy. Gorgeous, fat, woolly little paws indeed! I miss those on Pudding, she's a langy teenager right now :( Relish them and kiss them often Sahara!

Oh and zoomies... they are hilarious and dangerous at the same time, can't live without them.

My one regret with Pudding's spaying experience is that I wasn't there when she woke up and she was so scared by the time I got her. Groggy and scared. So it's such a blessing for Mia that you'll be there.

She'll be fine, and you will too. It just doesn't feel like it right now.

Jess, we're all so sorry for your loss. Life is unfair sometimes, but all our experiences make us who we are and the bad stuff can make us more compassionate, grateful people. Like all things in life, you decide what you make of it. Love, and be loved. Remember, Tippsy needs you! Both of you are in ...

Pudding love love loves fish of any kind, and softer fruits and vegetables. She loves ripe bananas and baked sweet potato. She'll sit and look cute in a corner of the kitchen while I cook and sit quite close to us while we're eating. She's learned not to beg, thank goodness, smart chow knows that wi...

Give Jess a big hug for me, Judy! I love to cook and wanted to go to culinary school, but I was afraid I wouldn't be good enough since I had no formal training whatsoever. I can imagine how trilled Jess was to be called chef for the first time. Long story short, I became a dietitian since I love foo...

I first started taking interest in chows because I love cats and heard that chows were the most cat-like dog breed. That peaked my curiosity and I started reading more and more about them. The look of the chow also really appealled to me. I've come to love their intelligence, independence and loyalt...

So the probiotics would be helpful keeping the good/bad bacteria ratio, and then also maybe an herb like uva ursi to keep the smoothness of the urethra, and reduce the likelihood of the bacteria sticking? Pudding had a bout of UTI in September. It was horrible and worried me to no end. The holistic vet said it was alkaline pH, found blood and stones in the urine, so presribed food and anti-biotics. I've gotten the pH papers to try to keep her urine within the right range, and have been supplementing ...

Getting Pudding spayed before 6 months was an adoption requirement for the rescue group we got her from. We got to take her home the same day, but those 8 hours were TORTURE. :( She was mad for a little bit, but more happy than mad that I came to get her out of there. It freaked me out to see her so...
