Anytime you put flea treatments on your pet you risk your pets health. According to CanineCancer.com, flea and tick products may contain solvent ingredients such as benzene, toluene and xylene that are known to cause cancer. If you have to use something, I would look for a natural treatment. Laura

I think cranberry is an excellent idea. If you don't want to deal with another pill you can get it in a powder. I think the most important thing to do is take them off tap water. Give them only filtered water.

I think every Chow deserves a home. I just want people to be aware when they buy a puppy. I don't support backyard breeders or pet stores. There are many puppies in rescue that need and deserve a home.

One more thing to consider. Plan ahead in case your bitch is not willing to accept the male. Sometimes even it your timing is right a bitch will be aggressive towards the stud. A lot of breeders do AI to prevent their studs from being injured.

looks like a pure chow, just not a well bred one. Anyone breeding puppies should be able to show you health certificates on the parents. They should be able to show proof that the puppies have been to the vet and had their first shots.
