Re: Flea Medication

Hi , there is also a new one that can be gotten from your vet, it is called Vectra 3D, seems to be working in cases where frontline is not. I am leary of it because it is new on the market for pets but so far I have only heard that it works well. I work at a vet's office. We are not carrying the adv...

Re: Need help!

Hi, From working at a vet's , the major thing is finding it and cleaning it so you don't end up with an infection that can make matters much worse. If it is a cut on the paw we use some homemade booties or you can use a sock to protect the foot while it heals and keeps it clean. Just velcro or tape ...

Re: Neo-Predef powder

Hi , it is safe to use but if she licks it she might drool alot. So try to keep her from licking at it. It has a numbing effect which helps with pain but does make dogs drool if they get it in their mouth, which is part of the reason it is a prescription. It does work on open hot spots to help them ...

Jeff and Conner, There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said. I don't post often so you probably don't know me. I work at a vet's and I believe you did what was best for Onyx. I am so sorry , please know you did what you had to even though it was so hard. Hug Peks extra is my only sugge...

Re: Any healthy biscuits out there?

Same store we buy Evo from also has some Mother Nature and Old Mother Hubbard but they do both have wheat flour. Ours like them and they get the evo treats too. All seem to be pretty good for them. Haven't had any allergic reactions and Shandi is allergic to almost everything I think.

Re: Need alternatives to Rimadyl.....

Hi, Shandi is on Tramadol for her hip pain. My vet will only use the Rimadyl for extreme circumstances and only for a few days because it is hard of the body. We also use a glucosamine. I like the idea of the DGP , I plan to look into it. Good luck with Chi Ching. So cute.

Re: Is this bad?

We have one old guy that arches up like a cat to get scratched there. The funny one though is watching our Great Dane when you scratch him there. He does the legs out in back , squat , lick the air and all at the same time. haha. He is a large doof. Shandi just enjoys it, then rolls over for the tum...

I am thinking maybe there are different brands, my husky with hypothyroid is on L-Throxine. He was a little tubby, cranky and his hair was falling out on the poor guy's tail and back legs. It all has grown back on the meds. Good luck with your baby.

So sorry about your furbaby. As a foster I have helped dogs thru distemper but none so young. Our thoughts are with you. My best advice is very close eye , keep warm , food if they can hold it down for strength. Kiwani seems to have some of the greatest knowledge and advice.

Deep breathing helps alot. I was reading your story and realized you were telling one we went thru 3 years ago when we got two female black chow girls. Both were from the same litter, 7 mos old. They had obviously had some little spats before, just small though, they basically stuck together like gl...

Mostly old and young is what we have been taking in at the vets. She doesn't charge very much so that helps folks alot. One of the few vets I know who is more concerned with the animals than the amount of money she makes. Alot of people here in our town have taken their pets in the house. Thank good...

Thank you for your thoughts. We have had lots of help from other states I hear too. Most the people I talk to say it is not too bad, kinda like camping but they don't have small kids. That can make it hard. I work at my vets and we have boarded lots of dogs & kitties the past week due to power o...

We just had a raccoon to dog outbreak here and several of the dogs bitten didn't have vaccines. So had to be put down. Maybe those instances are on the rise and that is causing it. Folks thinking they can do without the vaccine since it is every 3 years now in most places.

We went thru this with Shandi. One cat is still up high so she cannot reach her and she still whines when she sees her. It has been 3 years. All of the other cats have gotten the hang of her. She mouthed them until they were soaked. I guess that made them hers, she ended up raising a kitten and then...
