That's one of the things I love about Chows. You can look in their eyes and see them thinking, they are problem solvers, like how do I get where I want to go. 8) I can't jump this 6 foot fence, Hey! I'll just take it apart!! Vicki caught Baara, our new girl, looking at our fence first at the top, th...

It all depends on the Chow and what they want. Charlie, 3 ft. is fine, he's happy at home. Murphy, the rescue we were fostering in Florida, he was on a chain behind a 4 ft. fence, pulled the stake out of the ground, jumped the fence, over the top of a car on the other side with chain and stake attac...

Kokomo zip code is 46901, google maps on satellite will put you close enough to see cars in the street, this will give you a feel for the area. The street is Stegall drive, 46901 They are about 3000 feet from a creek, and 3000 feet from a Hospital. They seem to be on the South West edge of town in a...

Sam, I really hate to say this, but, if I am doing business with someone and they start with Reverent this or Pastor that, I run, I run as fast as I can. I had dealings with folks in Florida like that and they were all scam artists. Some of my customers were men of the cloth and it never came up in ...

Is your 4 year old male neutered? Is your 11 year old female spayed? This will have a lot to do with how they will all get along together. Will they all be staying in the house together and how often will they be left alone together? Who is dominate now, male or female? These are all things that wil...

Aspirin is a blood thinner, if this dog has any internal bleeding, this will make it worse, in other words it will keep the blood from clotting. The dog may die of internal bleeding. They need to call a Vet, explain their lack of money and ask about a payment plan. My Vet will not turn anyone away, ...

They seem to be getting along fine. When we walk them, Baara keeps bumping Charlie, she walks that close to him. At bedtime Charlie starts carrying his plastic boot around getting ready to go to bed, we heard some grumping, but not sure from who. She's only been here for 24 hours and she was acting ...

When I can get Charlie to go out after it stops raining,"Nope, I'm not going out in the rain, are you goofy, I can hold it for days!", he will tip toe around the water puddles on the deck. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that when we brought him home to see if Missy would accept...

When our Chow that chewed on the wood would get constipated after the first episode, we gave him a paste (like hair-ball remover) that the Vet gave us. When it did pass, it looked like it had a lot of hair in it. You may ask your Vet if they know of anything like that and if it would be OK. If it is...

We raised 3 Chows on Purina puppy chow and Missy passed away 2 years ago at 16 years old. Charlie is 8 and we feed him Purina One lamb & rice. If they don't have allergies, as ours don't, the Purina should work fine. Chows normally don't bark much, it sounds like she is barking at your other dog...

I guess I have been really lucky, I have raised 3 chows from puppy's and they never went in the house at all. No paper training, no accidents. You have to disinfect the area to the point she can't smell any sign of where she went. If she smells even a trace of it she will keep going in the same spot...

As long as the cat can get up where the Chow can't get to it, you don't have to worry about the Chow hurting the cat. What you should be more concerned with is the cat scratching the dog to pieces. The Chow will adapt to the cat, he's just being a puppy, you need to work on getting the cat to accept...

I suppose from Harry's point of view, 2 or 3 homes are better than 1, and if they are close to his big sisters, all the better. I'd bet if you let him out he wouldn't be gone for long, seems like he is comfortable at your house with you and his sisters. Did he every roam around overnight when your d...

Has he been neutered? We had a male cat, he came with the house we bought, that would go out and get in fights and stay gone for days. We had him neutered, and after the hormones were gone, he didn't get out of site. He got feline aids from fighting, from my understanding there isn't a vaccine that ...
