Re: Help!

Hi all-
Toto got better after we took him outside. He had a fever and it went down.
This morning, he was back to his old self. Still took him to the vet. She said to keep an eye on him because she couldn't find anything and to call her if it happens again.
Thank you all!

Re: Help!

Thank you for the responses-
You have to love parents. They are taking him TOMORROW and I'd take him myself but the nearest emergency vet is 45 minutes away. It's about -7 degrees out, and I don't know how well he'd handle it. I don't know what to do.

Help!

Alright- Most you were all very helpful to me when my baby Bear got sick a few years ago. I appreciate your help. I need to ask another favor. As most of you know, I now have a Cairn Terrier named Toto. He's about 2 years old. He doesn't replace Bear, but he's my baby. Toto got sick today. He's thro...

For My baby Bear

Oh, my baby boy Bear- It has been a little over one year since you have left your physical body and moved into your new home with one of your beloved friends, Kali. I miss having you around. I remember one time I went for a walk and I didn't know you were outside. You didn't know where I was and you...

*wags tail* Hi everyone! It's been a while since my owner, Stephanie, has been on here, so I decided to come on! I'm a year old now....still my hyper, busy-body self, but I'm learning. It's also been a year since I moved in. "Bear" is still here in spirit, but I'm here physically. I love i...

For All Those Who Wanted to See Toto...

Hey all, Well, I finally got time to put up pictures of Toto. They are a little outdated, but he looks exactly the same. Enjoy! Stephanie <a href=http://www.glowfoto.com/viewimage.php?img=25-200029L&y=2006&m=07&t=jpg&rand=8382&srv=img2> <img src=http://img2.glowfoto.com/images/20...

Thanks for replying all of you! Well, it looks like Homer figured out I was talking about him...he's still Macho Man, but he's shown it more. On Monday the temperature rose to 90 degrees....that's high and early in the season. I had just gotten back from marching in a parade and I flopped onto the c...

How do dogs show affection?

Hey all- Well, as you may or may not know, I used to be a Chow owner. My baby Bear was a normal Chow until he got a skin disease. He finished out his life being an abnormal Chow. When he passed last November, my Norwegian Elk Hound was devastated. But, I'm not here to talk about Bear. I'm here for H...

Hi all!

Hello to all that are reading this- I miss you all! It's been so hard to get on here since Bear passed away. Life has been flying by fast! Toto is now about 7 months and is having his first puppy obedience class tonight. He's grown up too fast! I'm sorry I haven't posted a picture...but, if you care...

Hi Judy and everyone else- I thank you for remembering Bear's birthday and celebrating. We celebrated here because he was so special. We have a new addition to our family....a little Cairn Terrier named Toto. About a week after Bear's passing, I looked at my family. Homer was lonely and needed a pla...

Bear was on pills 3/4 of his life. I can remember different things that we used, but he was different. First, we tried lard. He liked it. Eventually, we used fat scraps off of meat, but that's because he needed the fat. But we also used ham or cheese. Sometimes, he'd just take the pill right out of ...

It's Great How You All Cared

It's great how you all cared about Bear, me, my family, and Homer, especially Bear and me. Bear passed away in his sleep last night, after I went to bed. My last words were,"Bear, I love you so much. I'll see you in the morning. Never forget, I love you." I just wish I could've been there ...

Ok, Lou, I agree with you. As I read your response, I began to cry. I still am...I keep thinking about the sweet little puppy we brought home in 1997 and it makes me cry. What really hurt was when I took him outside not that long ago. I had to raise him up and carry him. I felt really bad when I set...

Thanks Jeff, I'll have to try that. As for talking to my parents, I tried but no cigar. They don't see what it would help. Bear's only gotten worse. He needs help getting up, assurence when he goes up 4 steps, water and food brought to him, and now he's just started yelping out. We're not sure if it...

I have been trying since ever to get him in...even after I told my parents that I called a vet and they said that his back leg problems could be Lymes. I got my mom to say yes, but she never got around to it. My dad's reason is,"Why pay a lot of money to try to help a dog live 2 months longer,&...

Bear will be 9 years old (I think) on Nov. 15. He might have had straph infection in June and might have been suffering from Lymes Disease since July. No, he hasn't seen a vet...my parents still refuse to take him in. Stephanie, Bear, and Homer

Bear won't get up

Hi all-
Bear is having problems, once again. This time, it's worse. He now has a hard time getting up. When he wants to get up, he can, but beyond that, he can't. It makes me cry. What should I do?

For all those that heard....

Hi everyone- I know this has nothing to do with Chows, but it deals with me. As you might have heard, a coach bus got into an accident with a semi in Wisconsin. Don't worry, I'm ok. But that accident could've happened to my bus coming back from the same trip. Just thought you'd like to know. *Thanki...
