Re: Chowling snores!
Henry snores - lots, usually when he is upside down. He also has these teeny baby barks when he's dreaming, it's too cute xx

Sorry you don't like your job. Keep applying for new ones while your working, sometimes it's easier to get a new job while your employed.

Re: Oh Oh Henry's limping :(
OH took Henry for his morning walk, the limping stopped by the bottom of the path. I'll keep an eye on him and try to get some 'footage' to show the vet. You know what it's like you take the car to the garage because it's making some strange noise but doesn't do it for the mechanic...

Re: Oh Oh Henry's limping :(
I have checked his paws and looked under the fur and between his toes. Poor old thing keeps following me around like usual limping badly. I guess its a trip to the vet later this week.

Oh Oh Henry's limping :(
Henry has just turned six. I have asked the vet to check his front legs a couple of times since he was a puppy as he sometimes stumbles and limps a little when we have been on long walks, he doesn't seem to be in pain and is his usual self. The vet has never felt anything possibly wrong. Today we we...

Re: Chow as a Cow: Grazing
I posted a couple of years ago about my cow chow, he loves it now the grass has grown lush and fresh again, he did have a few nibbles at the brown stuff just before it went green this spring, I just view it snack time when he goes off for a quick graze during our walks.

Re: Solid Gold WolfKing & WolfCub - Recall May 2012
Jess just check the batch codes, you'll be fine, I'll not switch Henry from WolfKing as he does really well on it - 2 cups WolfKing and 1 Cup Orijen mix goes into his bowl whenever it's empty lol.

Pet food recalls
I posted about a pet food recall in the General Discussion Forum and couldn't find it, then today I found it had been moved to here and then found out about a recall that I would have actually have been interested in. I don't look in the Nutrition,Diets and Food section EVER, as Henry is great with ...

Re: keeping your chow cool?
My kennel lady is ordering a cool mat for Henry from her suppliers. I was telling her that Henry was hot the other night and kept us awake stomping around all night (we don't like to let him out ALL night long. He had to go for a playdate on Monday and his kennel Mom said about these gel cool mats t...

One of the posters that used to post regularly on here has a chow as a service dog. I can't for the life of me remember her user name though. Someone will be along who can though!

Re: life changing relocation - 14 year old chow chow
I voted to take her too, before I read the posts and replies. If you really can't be bothered to go out of your way to take her, then build her a comfortable little house at your parents place and pay for a dog walking service. At least she'll be somewhere familiar, she will likely grieve for you. S...

Re: Love it or Hate it?
If there is a hint of rain Henry will sniff and look before he steps off the porch steps, he will do the same at the end of the path. If he sees a puddle we go back up the path and he lays on the front porch area and watches. He will walk away from a puddle, if it starts raining while he is outside,...

That's brilliant Jess.
Epsom Salts in a bath for achy tired bodies and good really good sensible ugly shoes (all sensible shoes are ugly). I work retail and good shoes are so important.

Re: Which Collar?
We've always used a thick flat collar but you made me think about getting a roll collars next time we go to the pet store. I believe harnesses are made so your dog can pull. I don't want my dogs to pull so I think I stay away from them. Think of it if you had a horse and you want to control him. Th...

Re: Couch potato or floor rug?
Henry isn't allowed on the couch. He does get caught on there quite often though and he prefers it if there is a down and fleece throw on the couch otherwise it's not quite as snuggly. I don't usually have the heart to tell him off as he looks so comfy, I just take pics. He never tries if we are act...

Re: Which Collar?
I use a rolled collar for tags and for grabbing Henry when someone comes to the door as he has been known to squeeze through a gap that a mouse would struggle to get through and and bounce off down the road. OH also uses the collar for walks. Myself and daughter always use the gentle leader harness ...

Re: long leads
A retractable leash can suggest to a dog that it is ok to pull all the time though as they have to pull against a little resistance to get the longer line. One reason I buy lunge lines is their durability. The current one is only just starting to look raggedy and it's almost a year old, and I let it...
