Re: My Chow is Very Sick...Cause Unknown...Help?

Oh, Chowpups, I am so glad my post helped you to decide to bring your baby in. It was the most awful time with my boy not knowing what was happening to him. I just knew he was very serious. I told my husband I felt I was looking at a dying dog. I just felt it...Tao would look at me and I could see h...

Re: My Chow is Very Sick...Cause Unknown...Help?

Comfortis is an oral flea medication. Well, my boy had emergency surgery on Monday morning to remove an 8 inch, mostly unstuffed toy...for a dog who has never eaten his toys before, his first time (and last...) was a doozy! He was very fortunate in that the fabric kept moving and so didn't cause any...

Re: My Chow is Very Sick...Cause Unknown...Help?

Rory's Dad thank you for the response. The suspicious area is gone...it was seen on Weds. and on Friday it was no longer evident on the x-ray. They are thinking it is some sort of gastric motility problem. He vomits partially digested food 12 hours after eating anything, as though it can't pass thru...

Natura Has Been Sold!

The company that produces the premium food Innova, EVO, California Natural etc. has been sold to Proctor and Gamble! I was shocked. I finally found a food low in carbs and good for my bladder stone prone girl and I feel a need to find another food. I think Acana is where I am going next. It won't be...

Re: Disrespectful ?

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so very hard and the grieving process is a long and arduous task. But....it is one that you will get through. I think all of us on this forum and any dog lover has had at least endured the grief of losing a beloved companion or two. Or maybe more. Speaking for myse...

Re: Walking in circles, limping, falling... =(

I am so sorry to hear of your tremendous loss. Please know as time moves forward the pain lessens, little bit by little bit. When I lost my beloved Joey to an anesthetic accident last June the vet sent me flowers and a large envelope the day after. Inside the envelope was a beautiful poem depicting ...

Re: Run Up to Crufts

Shoot, I may be a bit cynical here but I think all the AKC looks at is the revenue it stands to lose should registration, litter and individual, take a hit.... :( . Our AKC is little more than a registration body.

I wish the AKC would take the same stance in this country. It is long overdue.

Re: Sick dog in China!

Perhaps pancreatitis? I had a chow many years ago who had very mucousy loose stools. But the odor was very strong...The bleeding could be caused by inflammation. Lots of could beee's. Only proper testing will tell for sure.
Good luck to you.

Re: Help Please...Bladder Stones Info Needed

Just a side note...heard from my vet a short while ago. She does not want to allow me to use Wysong diet but insists I use Science Diet saying they have had better luck with stone dissolution using the SD. I am concerned I will treat one condition while making others worse! It took me a year to get ...

Help Please...Bladder Stones Info Needed

I am finally able to log back into my account on this forum...phew! It has been at least 6 months, computer mess ups. My 3 year old Chow girl was just diagnosed with bladder stones. She presented Saturday, suddenly with no outward warning, with bleeding from her "girl bits' and brownish red uri...
