Pet Insurance?

Post by Sandra B »

Has anyone here gotten pet insurance for their puppies?

I'm getting a new baby girl this Spring and recall that insurance was much cheaper for very young dogs.

I have an expensive vet - top reputation in the city, and worth it. They were great with my chow Odin and Black Russian Terrier, Stoli. However, the visits add up in price

I got a chow puppy in July and bought pet insurance for her. So far, I've been lucky and have not had to use it. I think it's well worth it! We had a very sick 16 yr old and spent a LOT of money at the vets. The company I chose will cover genetic probs (Hip dyplasia, and the eyelid problem) as well as any other illness or accident up to 3000. I cannot comment on how they are as far as paying claims I haven't had to file any (luckily). For me, I wanted to have that security in case something happened. Here is the site I bought from. http://www.petcareinsurance.com/. I pay about 35 a month. They will give you a 5 percent discount as well if you microchip your pet.
