New guy needs name

Post by fillyok »

Here's my fosterboy...any ideas for a name? He's certainly not shy or aloof and seems pretty smart, so far.

I think he looks like a happy red Fox. Maybe call him Tod after the character in Disney's Fox and the Hound?

Well, I went to http://www.instantspeakchinese.com/dictionary/ typed in lucky, put the cursor on the word and it says it in Chinese. That's when my boy came to the computer and looked for who was speaking his native language to him. He tried to look behind it to see who was there.

Dogdad suggested Sachi aru in the community section post, he said it means fortunate in Japanese, I really like that. I also like Tod :D

Chris, svelte means thin or slender in a graceful way. I like that too :D

Thanks for all the suggestions. I thought he looked like a fox too, but I'm not up-to-date on all the Disney movies. I like the name Tod. Dogdad also suggested Suerte which would carry on his heritage (being born in San Antonio).

So far, those are my two favorites. I'm pretty sure he's going to fatten up a bit, so maybe he won't look like a fox so much. Having three redheads in the house is kinda crazy...no offense Redangie.

He's such a clown. He must be mixed with some sort of cattle dog. He's really outgoing and friendly. And those toys for tough chewers...whatever.

I got some good news today. One of the ladies called me to say I had an appointment on Saturday morning to get Tod (he seems to like the name) vaccinated and neutered. The best news is it's only going to cost me $30!! I'm getting a rescue discount. I'm still keeping the appointment next week to get fecal and heartworm exams. He'll be good as new then!

I came home a bit early today and put him in the bathtub. He's soooo trusting and sweet. He took the bath like a champ and then we went outside to dry off a bit. He and Ping did some zoomies and chases and now he's passed out beside me.

Any advice for post-neutering. He'll be getting parvo/distemper, rabies, a pain shot and neutered all at once. Should I ask for extra meds for pain? I have to drop him off at 8am and pick him up at 4pm. Thanks

That's awesome!!! As far as post neutering goes, we didn't even get an e collar. They just told us to make sure that he doesn't lick the area, he was still pretty groggy and tired so the first day. He wasn't allowed to drink too much water at first and limit stair usage the first 24 hours. The hardest part for me was seeing him so tired and out of it. The next couple of days he would wnat to lick on occassion but we didtarcted him and within a few days he no longer wanted to lick anymore. I think that's it. Good luck! :D

Wow, what a handsome man. His color is really a brilliant cinnamon. What a precious face. How about Rojo (row ho) it means red in Spanish. My husband came up with: Redzone, Riley and Solo.

Ask for the collar just in case. Ziyear did not get a collar we had to go back and get one because he was trying despreatley to get those stiches out when we were not in the room. We would walk in and he was at work! Ziyear seemed fine, they gave him some pain and some antiboitics to take in case we needed them, but he was good. Ivana needed her meds, but she is a girl and everthing that happened to her....

Anyway I would ask for a couple just in case and the collar is not much I think it was 12 for us so it is worth it just in case you need it.

Oh yeah and Ziyear was happy and running around by the time we got home. They said to have him relax! That so did not happen. We could not have pinned him down!!

hi, it might be good to do the vaccines on a separate visit from the surgery so he doesn't get zapped with too many things at once.
he's beautiful, tod is a fine name for him!
