Beneful Dog Food, warning

Post by sit_by_the_beach »

I don't know if anyone here buys this brand. I don't know if this is a rumour, but better safe than sorry, here's the report and link, I hope this hasn't been posted yet, guess I ought to check the archives?

Thanks for the heads up...
I didn't see in the article what element of the dog food is molding, but my guess is; CORN.
I don't know off hand what ingredients are in Beneful, but corn contains Mycotoxin which is extremely vulnerable to Aflatoxins.
Aflatoxins are the same deadly organism that was found in Diamond Brand dog food about a year ago.

I hope this problem ends soon.

We fed our Shadie Beneful in her last months as it was all she'd eat (passed on at 15.5 years old of many conditions; not food related). Now that I know better.....

Within the snopes arcticle is this link. So sad!

I think it may have been a batch sold by WalMart. I prefer to shop at a pet supply store. In the supermarkets and walmart type stores, employees are not trained in handling of pet food. I have seen bags ripped or torn apart by customers, the bag is then taped closed.

Or bags are left outside even though they have the plastic wrapper, under damp conditions it will spoil the food.

My guess, I maybe wrong.
