A Dog Owners Prayer

Post by jimbo42 »

I saw this on a Dog Poetry Site and liked it and wanted to share it with everyone :)

A Dog Owners Prayer

Oh Lord, don't let me once forget how I love my trusty pet.

Help me learn to disregard canine craters in my yard.

Show me how to be a buddy even when my sofa's muddy.

Don't allow my pooch to munch postal carriers for lunch.

Shield my neighbour's cat from view--guide my steps around the doo.

Train me not to curse and scowl when it's puppy's night to howl.

Grant I shan't awake in fear with a cold nose in my ear.

Give me patience without end--help me be my dog's "best friend".

That is lovely Jim. :)

How about this for the Dog's Prayer:-

"A Master who is firm and kind,

And understands a doggie mind,

A walkie and a meal each day,

That's all I ask for when I pray."

Here's another good one...get some puffs, it makes me cry every time.

May I Go?

May I go now?
Do you think the time is right?
May I say goodbye to pain filled days
and long restless nights?

I've lived my life and done my best,
an example tried to be.
So can I take that step beyond
and set my spirit free?

I didn't want to go at first,
I fought with all my might.
But something seems to draw me now
to a warm and loving light.

I want to go, I really do.
It's difficult to stay.
But I will try as best I can
to live just one more day.

To give you time to care for me
and share your love and fears.
I know you're sad and afraid,
because I see your tears.

I'll not be far, I promise that,
and hope you'll always know
that my spirit will be close to you
wherever you may go.

Thank you so for loving me.
You know I love you too,
that's why it's hard to say goodbye
and end this life with you.

So hold me now just one more time
and let me hear you say,
because you care so much for me,
you'll let me go today.

Yes, I have heard that before and it is lovely - one for Jim at this time. :)
He was brave and let Ling go. :)

Heaven's Doggy Door

Post by jimbo42 »

I saw this poem and it really touched me hope it touches you too

HEAVEN'S DOGGY DOOR

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head lay in my hand.
The doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,

As I cradled him in my arms,
Were of his younger puppy years,
And Oh... his many charms.
Today there was no gentle nudge,
With an intense "I love you" gaze.
Only a heart that's filled with tears,

Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And said, "You should cry no more,
God also loves our canine friends,
He's installed a doggy door!"

Aw, thanks for that one Jim. (Crying too now)

It's so verrry hard to lose them, isn't it?

This year just about did me in. I lost all three of my most precious girls.
Two, within one week.
I feel like a huge part of me has been torn away. Like nothing will ever be the same again.
The only thing that keeps me going is that I have my other two. They simply won't stand for me to be sad. It's as if they have a job...to make me laugh again.

Jim, I hope you will find another very special dog to share your life with. Give yourself time...I believe the really good ones find us.

God Bless,
C

I am so sorry for the loss of your girls a tear runs down my cheek as I type. But just think of it this way God loves all our dogs and he's got a doggy door installed just for them to walk through to be with him forever in Heaven.

Where he hugs and loves them too for us until the time comes when we cross that great rainbow bridge and we have that wonderful reunion for all Eternity.

I bet Ling and your girls are running and playing in the clouds together with all the other dogs happy beyond belief.

God Bless You

Don't forget St. Francis, Jim - he's pretty good at minding our precious ones for us 'till we arrive! :)
