Hey everyone! New to this forum.

We got a 10 week old chow puppy recently. The main things I've noticed and are also kinda concerned about is his rapid breathing and snorting?

Anyone know if this is normal? He mainly breathes rapidly while lying down or sleeping.

Hello there, My Chow girl is the same way. She is now 14 months and still does that. She snort a lot and even when we get close to her, you can hear her snort in her throat and it sounds like Uh-ah, uh-ah. She is going for her check up soon..if there is anything I can update

My 3 month old chow is also doing this. She tends to breathe heavily in general but when she’s sleeping or laying down it tends to be a lot more intense. Due to what I’ve read it seems to be a normal thing for chows due to their thick coat they pant and breathe heavily to cool themselves down as much as possible. That’s just what I’ve read anyway :)
