What a happy girl...it's like she knows she's home for good!! I would've never guessed she just got there.

Muchos gracias to Michelle and Jerryo for bailing and convoying little Chloe. I really love happy endings. =D=

Chloe is going to be one beeautiful lady as she get back in shape. What you can't tell from the pictures is that she is VERY undernourished. She is skin and bones and hair. She needed a bath and a good brushing. I'm guessing she is going to be about five shades lighter after the bath.

But most of her beauty is still going to be inside. She is a totally gentle lady, but with a very cheerful smile and a curiosity about everything in her world. She made the car trip with absolutly NO problems or complaints. She was friendly and even affectionate in her own Chowish way. (A lady shouldn't be too forward, after all.) I got more kisses from her in four hours than from Benny in six months.

The Pflugerville pound obviously doen't know much about their business. They had her listed as a large, 3 year old male with aggressive tendencies. About the only thing they had right is that Chloe is a cream Chow. She is a tiny girl who I would guess is maybe six to nine months, maybe a year. If they needed a catch pole for her, they must put on the full padded suit when they get a chihuahua in house. As Michelle said, if we had to deal with those dopes, we would probably be cranky too.

The homecoming pictures just made my day worthwhile. :D After 531 miles in 11 hours, I'm gonna tell Benny and Lady how happy I am we all found each other.

Thanks Michelle, Thanks Joyce, Thanks Breathless.

She does look right at home. I can't believe she was so disregarded by her original owner. Kudos to her rescue team!

Wow! What a wonderful story - and it's just the beginning! She's pretty now but just think what a beauty she will become! Jerryo - you are so good to have helped so much, and Chowlover - you are so fortunate to have this girl in your home now! Kudo's to the entire rescue team! =D=

I emailed her about a week and a half ago and I haven't heard back from her. The last time I spoke with her she said they weren't moving till April or May so at this point I really don't know anything. We'll see what happens. I'll probably have 3 chows. I should probably giddy up and start looking for a house in the country for my chowdren and maybe they'll let us live with them

Thanks Kingalls, but let's not forget Michelle's work in springing her. Without her, none of this could have happened at all. (I think if Pflugerville AC hadn't coughed up Chloe when they did, we might all be trying to find a way to get Michelle out of jail now. It wasn't an easy thing. :D )

I'll let Michelle fill in the details since I wasn't there but as I understand it:
1) Pflugerville AC only has one person who can make an adoption decision
2) As of Wednesday, we still didn't have final approval for Joyce to get Chloe
3) The decision Pfluger went to a training seminar off site, and didn't leave the approval
4) Michelle tracked her down and got it approved Wed night
5) Thursday morning she arrived at AC to spring Chloe from a cell the size of a matchbox, but the Pflugers on site didn't know what to do about releasing her
6) I was on my way from Trinity (180 Miles), the Pflugers were picking their noses, and Chloe was cooling her paws in the cell, where the Pflugers were afraid to approach her. Until
7) Michelle, who doesn't mess around when a Chow's welfare is at stake, straightened out the Pfluger and everything proceeded on course.*

]):) ]):) ]):)

* No Pflugers were harmed in this process (that they can prove, anyway)

Have you seen him yet? I'm ready to get going.

I bet that fool got lost again!

Image
It's about time we got on the road!

Image
Yep, I think this spot says "Ladies"

Image
That was very refreshing

Are we there YET?

Image
Where IS my new Mommy, anyway?

Image
HI NEW MOMMY!!!

Can we go home now? It's been a long day, and I'm kinda tired.

What a great story. You guys worked that out so quickly. Great Job! :D

She looks so happy and releived. It is so hard to beleive that the shelter could only get near her if they used the pole.

I hope she has many many years of happiness with you!!!!

Did Zorro or the Lone Ranger ever show their face, all good crusaders never show their true identity.
