hello all owned chows for 30 years and love them deeply .was googling why my current one is loosing her winter coat at the end of nov. in northern nevada and found this site been a long bunch of years i guess since i looked at chows on line and didnt reliaze there was now a fourm for them . any way hello to all fellow chow owners and hope i mightmeet someone in reno area to mate my female blonde with before i have her fixed -she is the most child tolerant loving female ive ever owned ,raised her w/ my kids since 6 weeks old .she tolerates me but is really my wifes dog

Welcome! It does seem odd to be shedding now. My 2 year old male had a moderate coat blow out in early summer but since, I hardly get any hair in the brush while grooming. As long as the skin looks good, appetite & behaviour normal, I don't think I'd worry too much unless it doesn't resolve itself soon. Best of luck & I hope your furkid is ok!
