My friend; Korey's English Mastiff, Broadway, passed away early this morning due to complications from heartworms (he was treated for, but we guess the damage was already done and his heart just gave out on him)... Korey's heartbroken over losing his boy, and I'm heartbroken for him.
Godspeed Broadway! We love and miss you! And I know you'll be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for your daddy! (2007-3/31/2012)

Oh poor Broadway
I thought he was in the clear and doing better. RIP.

Thanks Stephanie... We thought he was too. He was acting like his big puppy self again... And then I received the phone call this morning...

Jess, so sorry to hear Broadway passed, I hope you and your friend got some extra special time with Broadway while he felt good for a while there. Broadway will have to learn how to do zoomies with the rest of our crew at the Rainbow.

Dear Jess,
I'm so very sorry to hear about Broadway passing away. Please convey my sympathy to Korey. I know how it feels to lose that special furry friend. He and Broadway have been in my prayers since I first read about Broadway. I do so hope Korey and Broadway had s ome special times while he seemed to be getting better.
All three of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Take Care.
Pam

Thanks Nancy. We did have good times with Broadway when he was doing better. The last time I saw him (2 weeks ago when I picked Korey up for karaoke) he came running through the house and plopped down on the area rug in their living room, making it slide 5 feet.
It was hilarious. And before that I watched him herd their goats around the backyard.
That was one of his favorite pastimes. And all 200+ lbs of him liked sitting on my feet.
I don't think he'll have a problem learning zoomies with all of our furbabies who've gone before him.
Though his would be pretty clumsy.

Thank you Pam. I will.
Korey's already telling me he wants to get another English Mastiff when the time is right (which probably won't be for a year or so; due to him leaving for school in Florida in June...), and he's got my full support in that.
