Hi Jim,
Yes... Special Paws! Katalin was an active member here with her chow, Special Dark. If she is close enough, please consult her. I can vouch how wonderful of a trainer/behaviorist she is and helped me tremendously (over the phone) with a chow I was fostering. He was a known biter (7 people - not nips, but bites), food and treat aggressive and had a high prety drive. She taught me the signs and signals to look for in diverting his bad habits into canine good citizen behavior. He was adopted and is his "dad's" best friend now. Katalin suggested reading material for me too. Here is her web site: http://www.specialpawstraining.com/index.html
Good luck!

Zhuyos mom, thank you for that link. This site has a page on operant conditioning and classical conditioning , which are the methods I use to train my animals.
http://www.specialpawstraining.com/learning.html
The link explains the theory of the method. There is also a resources page

Looks like I have some reading to do. Folks, you can't know too much about how to interact with your dog.
