Ownership Transfer

Hi all, I'm curious about the transfer of ownership regarding CKC registered chows.

As an example, if someone has a CKC registered dog (not intact) and is wanting to rehome that dog, is it imperative that the new owner (or the original owner) do an actual ownership transfer with the CKC or not?

The only reason it matters is if you are breeding or showing which you would not be doing.

not sure if it is the same in that respect as AKC, but if you wish to do any sports such as obedience and the like, you'd likely want the papers transferred as well
