Thank god for microchips

Post by Sylvia »

I just thought I'd share this with you all. Yesterday when I got home, I had a message on my answering machine from Animal control. Sweetie had gotten out and was found running around loose. Animal control was able to get her and took her to the SPCA. As you can imagine, this really shook me up. Fortunately, Sweetie is microchipped and I listed my phone number and my friend as an alternate contact. They got a hold of my friend who went to the SPCA and picked up Sweetie.

My yard is completely fenced, the gate was latched and a pin put in to keep the latch shut. I walked the entire fence line this morning and there were no holes under the fence even close to large enough for Sweetie to get under, but sure enough one of the fence board had gotten loose, and Sweetie got out.

Thank God for microchips, they were able to contact my friend and me (but they got a hold of her first, I wasn't at home yet), and Sweetie didn't have to spend the night at the SPCA. I used the Home Again microchip and the Home Again people even called me today at work to make sure Sweetie was back safe.

Thats great to know that they actually scan them! I always get everyone microchiped.
Its very inexpensive and well worth it!
I'm happy Sweetie is home safe and sound :D

Sweetie is doing well. I stopped by the SPCA yesterday to personally thank them and left them a donation. I also asked them to thank the animal control officer. I am very glad that they found her and she didn't get hit by a car.
