Hello everyone!
Hi all! My name is Autumn, and I am a soon to be mom to a baby chowling named Powder. She is currently 3 weeks old, and we are so excited for her to come home in 3 more weeks. We have 2 children, 2 chihuahua's and 3 cats that are also looking forward to Powder's arrival. I can't wait to get to know all of you!

Re: Hello everyone!
Welcome. She's very cute. I have a question though; why is she leaving her mom and sibs at 6 weeks? There are some very important lessons she should be learning from her mom and sibs at weeks 6 and 7, she should stay with mom until she's 8 weeks old. She'll have the beginnings of bite inhibtion then and not be so liable to suffer from seperation anxiety. I know it's not your fault, just that I've see a couple of puppies on here lately seperated from Mom at 6 weeks and from everything I've every read about young puppies that is too young. Just wondering if this is a new trend among breeders.

Cute baby. I agree, if you can get her to stay with mama til 8 weeks, she will be a better Chow for you. My Chow Lily was almost 10 weeks, and she never cried and was a confident puppy. It isn't that you can't raise a good Chow at a 6 week release, but those 2 weeks really would give Powder a leg up. Regardless, she is darling, congrats!

Re: Hello everyone!
Honestly, I am not quite sure why they are letting her go at 6 weeks. I do know that all of her litter is going at that time. I am truly happy to be able to have her at all, and would not mind having to wait the extra few weeks. I also know that the breeder that I am getting her from is a reputable breeder, as I went through the North Texas Chow Chow Club for recommendations. I am just delighted to welcome her into our lives, as I am sure that all of you were as well.
